Parity is ruining the NFL

Does anyone else get the feeling that most games are just a coin flip?

I love my Jets but I find that NFL overall is no longer that interesting. There are no epic battles anymore where two great teams go head to head

These teams are so evenly matched, that to me... Nothing is a huge upset. Who are the great teams? The Pats? Who else?

The Bills lose to the Jets, the Bills beat the Cards and I am sure the Cards slaughter us later. Sigh.

I just don't get excited about games outside of the Jets. No buildup or drama.

Is it just me?

I've lost a lot of interest in the NFL over the years. It used to make my blood boil and I've ben known to thrown a phone/computer/dog/etc. across the room. Now I refuse to pay for the Sunday Ticket and watch the games from my friends account on my computer. Maybe I will start caring again when the Jets find a QB that I feel can lead them somewhere. Maybe I'm losing interest in the league. Maybe I've lost hope in the Jets. Not sure what it is either, but I don't care about football as much anymore.

Parity?

If there was parity I would be going to a home playoff game on an average of every 4 years

I couldn't agree more. It seems like 90+ percent of NFL games follow a similar script. Getting ahead or falling behind doesn't matter much; the team behind usually comes back to at least give themselves a chance to win in the end. It seems to me like, for the most part, each game is just very similar to every other game. It is exciting when the game comes down to the last play or drive, but when every game does, no matter how it goes in the first three quarters, it really kinda takes the specialness out of it.

I agree they are ruining all sports but the NFl is not as much fun anymore. Just like Washington the more they tinker the worse it gets. Replay late games, you can't hit anyone anymore Etc etc Etc

I think having parity is better, except for my weekly pool that I seem to lose based on all the unexpected performances. When the 49ers and Cowboys were dominating in the 80's and 90's, it was kind of pointless even watching the regular season because you knew who was going to win it all. But now, there are a couple of front runners, a bunch of above average teams, and about 1/3 of the league who have no chance.

I enjoy watching the last 3-4 mins of all the Sunday games. There's usually some great finishes, and huge upsets. Regardless, the cream always rises to the top. I foresee one of four teams winning it all: NE, Pittsburgh, AZ or GB. With Denver or Minnesota the next tier of possibilities.

I hear ya. At least it is good to know that lots of teams have a chance to win it all each year.

I don't think it's parity that's ruining the league but like BS mentioned, the rule changes. Gone are the nice defensive battles or a top offense vs a good defense. It's like madden now where you move up and down the field with ease.
