An interesting couple of statistics about the defensive line. The Jets rank 2nd overall in lowest blitz rate at 16.8%. Yet they have the 7th highest pressure rate at 30.7% in the league. The Jets under Saleh/Ulbrich are getting to the QB without blitzing. This d-line is dominant. It’s exactly how they did it in SF. What a huge improvement over last year.

the pressure being brought almost exclusively by the Dline room has been as epic as saleh said it would be..

yet another receipt for the coach..

i was wrong about the guy.. full stop..

he's got his locker room in order & he's got legit leaders on both sides of the ball that hold it down for him when needed..

much respect to coach saleh & his staff..

go jets..

it's been written this week in the papers - Saleh is a true HC...he's not slanted in one room....he's being the CEO of the team we have long needed.

As for the pass rush - saw a stat Sunday .....Jets had 25 no-blitz sacks....tops in NFL. That is a mean DL. Q is unstoppable up the middle while Huff has the #1 get off speed in pass rush.

So true. One usually makes the other look even better. And the Jets CB’s are top 3 in the league between Reed and Sauce.
My question, what happened to Bryce Hall? He was our best CB last year. Our secondary wasn’t that great and the defense was horrible as a whole last year but he played pretty decent IMO! Now this year he can’t get on the field, AT ALL.

If that’s truly the case, then why didn’t they trade him? It makes sense not to trade Mims as we all see they are using him now but Bryce Hall can’t see the field. Surely we could have gotten something for him by now. The kids talent is just waisting away.

It’s an interesting question. I agree, I thought Hall was considered a riser on this defense. Saleh talked him up last year, and then all of a sudden he’s fallen behind guys like Michael Carter and Brandon Echols. He inactive every week. I know he had that one awful preseason game this year but beyond that, I’m confused as to why he’s not a part of the secondary. I thought he played well last year.

The Jets probably could’ve gotten a mid round pick for him. Why bother? He’s good depth in case someone gets injured. That’s probably the rationale.

He’s probably pissed because he could be a starter for many teams and for others, he would at least be a 3rd or 4th CB. He can’t even get on the field with the Jets. DAMN!

I think that’s a testament to the play of Echols and Carter. Carter won the slot CB position, and Echols won his spot in part due his special teams play.
