Pathway to the Playoffs

Here’s my closest guess to how the Jets get into the playoffs. It’s got to be 10-7 to get in assuming the best teams will win 12-13 games. The Eagles might win 15.

I broke down the remainder of the schedule into two blocks. The first is the easier games, the other is the tougher games.

At home: Lions, Bears, Jaguars. Win 2 out of 3 of these games. A letdown should be expected.

On the Road: Patriots, Bills, Dolphins, Seahawks. Vikings. Win 2 out of 5 of these games. Every one of these games will be a battle. But we’ve risen to the challenge already this year against supposedly better teams.

Is this realistic? Thoughts?

The Jets NEED to beat the Patriots in Foxboro. Can’t have that asshole Belicheck inside our QB’s head anymore. That demon needs to be exorcised. Lions, Jags, Bears need to be W’s, Jets have to start beating the teams they should beat,
If Allen’s elbow is serious, that Bills game becomes very winnable.
Dolphins, Vikings and Seattle are all very tough road games, Miami with the heat and Seattle’s 12 man. Vikings have a good team, a lot of weapons, weak link, Cousins.
If the Jets can keep the good vibes rolling it’s 11-6, throw in a clunker, 10-7.

I’d really like to be able to beat all the teams that we should beat. Lions and Jaguars and bears Oh My. That’s how the cheatahs always did it. They beat the 10-12 bad teams on the schedule, and split with the 4-6 respectable teams. seems simple really

unfortunately the AFC is no longer the AFC that the mighty cheatahs dominated for 20 years. There are a lot of good teams here now. That’s why brady booked to the NFC where there are a couple good teams and the rest stink. That said, how good are the Vikings and the Seahawks really? Like I said most of the NFC stinks. We’ll get a better idea about Seattle after they play the tombradies this week. Brady had his believe game last week. When that defense tries, they are scarey good

so win those games, that’s 4 giving us 10 wins.
Can’t expect to beat Buffalo again and at home but man, that would be huge
Cheatahs is a must win. That gives us 11 or 10 if we slip up one of the “should wins”
Can you actually believe in the Vikings yet? Again, very weak competition in the NFC. Tombradies could win out and be 11-5 or they could win only 2 more games and still win that division. Packers suck. Rams suck.

could we actually win 11 games? That would be crazy

here’s the 2 downers:
1. If we lose to belichick, we most like fall to last in the division
2. Last week of the season, in Miami, could be for the right to the playoffs

and lets just throw this one in just in case:
we could revert to the same old Jets and lose out

Chandler Bing: “can we HAVE any more injuries”. We need to have some better luck here

4-4 is absolutely doable. I see about five games I believe can be wins. That said, you know there will be a game they win that they probably shouldn't, and a game they lose that they probably shouldn't. So if we go the conservative estimate, 4-4 gets them to 10-7. Should be a wild card.

We absolutely want to make the playoffs. Some of us were simply saying it’s not a mandate on the season’s relative success.

Funny response though. I’ll give you that.
Yeah, it would be nice to lose that tag of the longest playoff drought even if nothing comes of it. Like it would be nice to break the streak of consecutive defeats by the Patsies.

The Patriots game off the bye week is big in several ways. It’s a division game, and division games are going to be huge by season’s end. The other aspect is the psychological side of this matchup. The Jets need to throw this monkey off their back. This has been too one sided for far too long. We’re going to have some reinforcements back. We’ll be as healthy as possible. They need to win this game.

Getting the monkey off the back, and doing it IN THAT STADIUM, would be bigger than having won at MetLife.

This is a great listen! Brady Quinn and that other idiot still doesn’t believe in our Jets and apparently Vegas doesn’t either. Who gives a shit! Let the hater and doubters keep doing it while it fuels the fire for our team. Keep taking those tickets Jets, who knows where it might take you!

Reviewed the schedules of NE, CIN, LAC and Miami. If we can take out NE, I can only see them winning 4 games to put their record at 9-8. CIN has a tough schedule left, again maybe 9-8 or 8-9. The best I see LAC doing is 10-7. Miami, on the other had, I see going 12-5 In looking at our remaining schedule I see NE (win)
Minn ( win) I don’t think the Vikes are as good as their record, Chicago (tough win), Bills (loss), DET (win), JAX (win), SEA (loss). The big one will be Miami in the last week. Worst case, 11-6 with the number 6 seed . This is based on Josh Allen being fine and Buffalo winning the division.
1. KC
2 Buff
3 Ravens
4 Tenn
5 Miami or Jets (depending on winner of the last game)
6 Jets or Miami
7 LAC
Personally I would rather see Tenn in the 1st round rather than the Ravens. ( I believe Miami fans would also agree)

I REALLY don’t want to get into the game predictions and playoff possibilities. I’d hate for this to blow up in all of our faces! So I’ll keep it simple and just enjoy the ride. Not that I don’t have confidence in our boys but I just don’t want to get ahead of myself.

I’d be right there with you if had more faith in Zach Wilson. He still has a lot to prove to all of us but as long as he keeps playing the way he did last week, there’s no reason not to start having ALOT more faith in him! What your saying here I totally agree with and can see it but we’ll see!

Playoffs? As much as I want that our Team , the team isn’t ready for this. So I’m not disappointed if Jets don’t make it and more concerned about team making progress together

I am not ready to truly consider playoffs yet. I'm not going to predict the collapse that CBS, financial partners of the New England Patriots, are predicting, but I am enjoying that the team has made great strides and appears to be ahead of schedule.

The best way to have faith in Zach is to not have him throw 40+ times. I blame LaFleur for the Pats game. 25 was perfect last week. 40 got him exposed. He will never have the numbers we want, but he won't be able to kill the team with mistakes. He is just not ready for that role yet. Just ride this wave this season with the formula of run the ball and play great defense/ST and limit the throws for Wilson.

I’m tired of hearing about the playoff drought. Sorry, but I want playoffs this year and I think we can get there if we play the way I think we can

Can’t agree with your statement that Zach WILL NEVER HAVE THE NUMBERS WE WANT! We just don’t know that to be the case right now. Like you said, he’s not ready now to throw the ball 40 times. That I do agree with! Problem with that is they can’t guarantee that he won’t have to do it again.

There just might be a game or two this or next year where the defense may not be itself or the running game isn’t holding up and Zach will have to do more. It’s just the nature of the game. I believe he will be able to carry this team soon enough and give us those type of numbers. When that time will be, I just don’t know!

I meant he won’t give us the numbers we want with only 25 attempts.
