Patriots cutting Mohamed Sanu

Mohamed Sanu never panned out in New England, and now he’s on the way out.

The Patriots are releasing Sanu, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

That’s a massive disappointment for New England, which gave up a second-round draft pick to acquire Sanu in a trade with the Falcons last year. Sanu caught just 26 passes for the Patriots.

Sanu has played well at times in his career, for both the Bengals and the Falcons, and there will surely be other teams interested in him once he officially hits free agency. He should be on an NFL roster this season, but it won’t be in New England.

Agreed. Thee Bug Eyed Psycho however disagrees. As you point out the man has tunnel vision. Its kinda funny in a way. Fail with the same players in a new place. How Gase of Him.

If this was all Gase's decision then you might be right, but I have confidence that Douglas and the team he has surrounded himself with wouldn't pass on someone who they felt would benefit Sam. Maybe I'm naive, but for once I trust the front office to the right thing.

I want to agree. and I hope we're right. but the front office knowing what they are doing is so new to us. could it be real?

He had a rough season with the Pats , but so did all the Pats.
I cannot believe this signing would not be good for this team ?
Of course he doesn't get a 10 year big contract but sign him with a respectable contract .
I don't see how this could not be a positive for this team ?

I would say this we got Crowder in the slot so we don't need Sanu...

but when I look at the roster we have Crowder, Berrios, Hogan that are likely to make the active 55 (wow that felt weird, 55) but Gase loves his slot style receivers... so if they feel they can get Sanu to contribute more then he did in New England then sign him for cheap...

Crowder gets hurt and then the Jets need Sanu. No reason to not at least give him a look.
