My wife and son are adamant about boycotting Peacock. We'll watch a movie, which bothers me. I want to see the game. But they're more pissed off than me about charging for the game.Except home games of course but then again it was a kind of special listening to Merle Harmon call 'em while keeping a score card on the kitchen table. Then after, if the Jets won, a little black and white TV to watch the 4p AFL game on Ch.4. With only 8 or 9 teams in the league you got to know them all very well. there was a wonderful part of this that current and future generations will never experience. After games on TV in B&W, you go to your first game (at Shea of course) and you see the green of the grass and jerseys and the red of the opponents and it's a relevation
This Peacock thing is awful and it feels like rich guys reaching in to your pocket for more cash (especially bad a month ahead of NAMM) but it is the future of all television
Never thought we would stop going to the ballparks, but we did. Now I am starting to think that have thought that I just won't watch anymore at all. Just might be getting there.
Money ruins EVERYTHING
But here's how the folks at Peacock are complete scumbags. Yesterday, I saw that the flick Oppenheimer will stream on Peacock beginning on 2/16. Not a bad deal then if you get today's playoff game plus the film. But if you sign up today for the one month, you miss the 2/16 date. Nice, huh?
And who the fuck in this day and age names a network Peacock? Both "pee" and cock in one name. Genius.
