Now we get into the players who actually have a semi-realistic chance of getting traded. Denzel Mims isn't a player many would like to see on this list, but trade rumors have been floated around for a reason.

Mims' story has been well told this season. The former second-round pick entered the spring looking to lock down a starting spot opposite Corey Davis in the Jets' new-look receiving corps, only to find himself plummeting down the depth chart.

This season, he's made far more headlines for his inactive status on Sundays than for his play on the field. He just isn't getting snaps, and if the Jets don't plan to use him, other teams certainly will.

That's why the Jets have reportedly been receiving trade calls for Mims, only to turn prospective teams away. Per reports, Joe Douglas isn't looking to trade Mims and still sees him as a part of the future.

But Douglas can't force the Jets' coaching staff to play Mims, or at least that's not something he's going to do. If a team comes calling with an enticing enough offer, he might just jump at the opportunity.

The Jets should not trade Denzel Mims. It doesn't make sense to given the direction of the organization and the promise that Mims showed both in college and as a rookie.

Find ways to get him involved in the offense in the second half of the season. That should be the Jets' plan.

Unfortunately, however, it won't come as a shock if he's ultimately traded instead.

@jets82 no I don't want him to go but the talk is the talk and he is one of them being discussed around social media...

My vote is no, unless of course there is another issue that has presented itself behind the scenes that is the reason for the CS to under-utilize Mims. My take is that the CS is pushing DM to be a more complete WR and is willing to be patient and perhaps unpopular with both DM and some of his teammates. Perhaps it is also an opportunity to showcase some of the other veteran WRs for trade purposes.

too many options not enough balls to go around...

of all the receivers the one that has the most value is Jamison Crowder...

Crowder goes, Mims vs Cole for outside reps while Moore, Berrios & Jeff Smith are the slot receivers with Moore getting the bulk load of snaps...

They’ll be straight up idiots to to trade this kid unless there’s something else going on that we don’t know about. Something truly worth trading this kid.

I love his potential. I'd like to see him get straightened out in terms of his work ethic with the playbook. Ultimately, I leave it to the guys who spend every day with him to know whether he can turn it around or not.

from what I heard the coaching staff is really high on him this thread was mainly started because of people on social media...

I wouldn't trade him not because of his contract but of his potential... if he continues to grow as he has been by week 10 he should be seeing 30-40 snaps a game and the production of 5 - 8 catches will be there....
