You can't be serious with the Mac bashing.

It's preseason. Ugly play from both sides

Bryce Petty's passer rating is almost 100 points higher than Geno's for tonight. 121.9 to 23.6.

Couple of brief observations:

1. Petty is better than Geno and he should be the #2 QB, which probably means trading or releasing Geno lest he becomes a negative force in the locker room, because you know he won't take kindly to being #3 on the depth chart, he's already pouting now because he's #2. Better to cut bait so the young QB's don't have to deal with that kind of negativity.

2. Robby Anderson has size, speed and he can ball. Try to pass him thru waivers for the PS and you will lose him.

My observations:

1. Robby Anderson is a player. He will not pass waivers. I don't think any of our young guys can. We may need to cut Thompkins.

2. Petty is developing nicely. Hopefully he can sit a bit more behind Fitz and continue to learn as much as he can.

3. First team offense and defense looked horrible. Linebackers may be a problem this year. We are quick but we're out of position.

4. Dee Milliner will most likely be cut. He cannot stay healthy. Like sack said elsewhere, Glass Dee.

5. Tight ends will continue to be weak. No one can make a play. More Enunwa. I am fine with that.

Jalin Marshall, Charone Peake & Robby Anderson proving why they all three could be WR 4,5,6 on our roster behind BMarsh, Decker and Enunwa....

RB situation is far worse than first thought, we need Forte back to tandem with Powell but we have no clear third option...

Looks like the Jets are finally moving on from the fullback role, but will either Bohanon or Howsare make the roster as a special teamer...

tight end situation is problematic but Bostick has looked decent... still waiting on Vander Laan to appear hopefully he can be the spark we can use at this position...

offensive line looked horrible from jump street with Mangold not active...

defense is ready for the season even with Glass Dee and a few miss tackles but it is still preseason...

If the kicking competition wasn't already over, it sure as heck ended with Martin doinked a PAT off the upright.

A couple of bright spots, but on the whole an extremely underwhelming performance. Anderson really looked like he belongs, Leo with a bulldozer sack, and Petty at times was good, but I'm struggling with heaping praise elsewhere.

Not a ton of praise to go around. I think the QB picture is coming closer into focus. Some good WR depth.

TE is still blurry, and Amaro, who I had high hopes on rebounding, is not making a strong case. Still some questions about depth at CB.

Sheldon Richardson has been noticeably quiet this preseason so far. So much so I didn't even recall seeing him last night, also looked at stat sheet and he didn't register. Did he even play?

The run defense looks like it's going to be trouble. Right now, team is missing snacks. Deion Simon looked good with the 2nd/ 3rd stringers.
If Dee Glasss got abused last week, Marcus Williams was schooled last night. He looked absolutely terrible.
Defense could not get off the field with Colt McCoy behind center.
GeNOmore, he is done. I was rooting for the kid. Hearing how well he was progressing in OTA's and such, BULLSHIT!! I was one of the guys that didn't want to overpay Fitz and was ready to go forth with Geno, Thank God they got Fitz on that one year deal. Time to start putting all of their efforts into Bryce Petty as the number two. Make Geno the third QB instead of cutting him right this second, just in case an injury were to happen.
The Jets WR situation is a good problem to have, J. Marshall has made the team,IMO. C. Peake, R. Anderson two tall, fast players could make Thompkins expendable. I think Bowles likes NFL experience in his players but who do you cut. These guys need some plays in the preseason games with the ones to see how they do.
Special teams was the star of the show last night, minus Martin. L. Edwards looks like the real deal. coverage units looked great.
I know it's preseason and all but the Jets last year started way too many games flat, slow. Their defense has started both preseason games flat, slow. Things need to change against the Giants.
With the schedule the Jets have, if this slow and flat play continues, this'll be a long year.

have to remember it is only preseason so player(s) are not playing 100%...

on O-line without Mangold they were disastrous...

Leonard Williams second straight week playing nose tackle with a sack (maybe he is Snax true replacement)...

we have no clear third option at RB, this needs to be solved...

Amaro still looks lost out there, yea he caught a few passes so what... Bostick looked better... K. Davis needs to leave the receiving to tight ends that are used to catching the ball, tuck n running there after... Sudfeld, omg on that fumble he looked like after the catch he was confused and slowed to crawl before the hit... wouldn't be surprised to see Kellen Davis, Brandon Bostick and Zach Sudfeld be the group entering the season because Jace seems he does not want to be here (trade or simple release?)...

Skrine at best is a nickel and that is pushing it... if Marcus Williams doesn't step up and take that other starting outside role opposite Revis we are in for a long season... Rontez Miles & Doug Middelton look like good options as backups/special team role players... Would not be against if the Jets keep five or even six safeties while cutting the dead weight at corner (Dexter McDougle & Dee Milliner released)... Revis was Revis last night doing his thing... Bryson Keeton is still my sleeper to make the cut... Along with Keeton, Daryl Morris and rookie Juston Burris look to round out this depth... Both Ronald Martin and Dion Bailey are good options being that they are hybrid esq players... Will be interesting on who makes the active roster...

believe the speed at linebacker will help the secondary against high powered passing attacks, but the thumping style run defend defense could be a problem this season not because Snax is gone but because this group hasn't formed an identity of power to speed... believe the front will be more improved when Wilkerson is out there along with Williams and Richardson... until then we are searching for player(s) that are trying to earn a job to be role players to the starting three (four) up front... Deon Simon looks to making a play for a spot, but with the young talent there this seems to be a loaded position(s)...
