Power back
Knight became only the fourth player in program history to return a kickoff 100 yards while scoring a touchdown against Miami. Despite emerging as one of the most dynamic running backs in the nation even before the 2022 NFL Draft cycle, Knight wasn’t satisfied. After setting rushing totals of 745 and 788 yards in his first two seasons, the NC State RB wants to crack 1,000 yards during the 2021 college football season. Knight opened up the campaign in impressive style in a pivotal season for his NFL Draft stock with 163 yards and a score against USF. BAM!

While tougher tests are sure to come, Knight has the opportunity to elevate his NFL Draft stock this season. The NC State RB has a tremendous offensive line, including highly regarded prospect Ikem Ekwonu, to run behind in addition to his alluring skill set. While a return to the first round for an NC State RB is unlikely, emulating Nyheim Hines’ fourth-round selection in the 2018 NFL Draft should be achievable.

Nicknamed “Bam”, Zonovan Knight left an explosive impact in Raleigh and could contribute immediately in New York, leading the Wolfpack program with a 5.5-yard average carry (min. 150 attempts) and finishing in ACC’s top ten rushers in each of the last two seasons.

Joe Douglas should round up WR - Justyn Ross surely there is tremendous upside here! + a great potential personal achievement story

Justyn Ross Doesn’t Get Drafted Due To Medicals

Ross suffered a neck injury that required spinal cord surgery, leaving him out of football for a while. When he finally got to return in 2021, he had issues with his foot all season long.

I had my preferred players but also knew a group of players they would target and not only did they target them they gave them guaranteed $ in Middle Tennesee State LB DQ Thomas and Illinois Safety Tony Adams

which I am glad they signed with us. DQ & TA should compete to make the active 53, both were considered late 5th early 6th graded prospects.

Obviously the team does not agree about the need at LB. I'm a bit flabbergasted by it but oh well. To me, Mosley is the Jamal Adams version of a LB. He has the 3rd most expensive contract at that position. We can and have got better players off of waivers.

I think your comparison is a bit off. CJ Mosley is a good not great run defender at the point of contact. He takes good efficient pursuit angles and is a very good tackler but he is aging. He will be with us this season but next off season he could be cap casualty - just a hunch.

it has been CJ's cover skills that are a problem

they signed MTSU DQ Thomas gave him guaranteed dollars expect him to make the roster and be that developmental option. Good cover skills.

Don’t we already have him on the roster in the person of Kai Nacua

few others as well but that is the role of linebackers they are former safeties. Davin White, Jordan Whitehead, Jamien Sherwood, Hamsah Nasirildeen, Quincy Williams, and some of the newly signed players brought in recently.

I'm not really that far off because that's how I see things also ... unless you mean the Jamal Adams comparison. The comparison was not related to skill sets but value vs cost.

We have only 2 LBs that had significant play/impact last season...Mosley and Williams. I don't think that Hamsah or Sherwood have shown anything that makes the team comfortable with promoting them to starters. Post-draft, the LB squad is light. Now I'm really curious to know how the team plans on filling the LB positions for next season and being content with its decisions. From the looks of things, they will convert safeties. Personally, I'd still want more experience on the roster if the team is converting safeties.
