Props to Fitz and JFU posters (current and former) who called it about him this year

Well I guess I have to finally admit it that Fitz did a lot more then I expected this year. I always believed this was a capable 10-11 win team this year with Fitz or Geno but I figured it would be more on the defense, running game and WRs helping the QB. Fitz actually played very well this year (besides this Bills game) ofcourse. Sg3 had been saying it all along that Fitz would take this team further then Geno and the way he preformed this year, I now believe that is true. Yes he did let us down this Bills game but so did the entire team and coaches. This was a team loss and a embarrassing one also. I have to give props to Fitz this year and Sg3 and others who called it this year that Fitz would be a better fit then Geno for this team. I think it's pretty evident by his stats that this is the case and AS MUCH AS I HATE GIVING SG3 PROPS FOR ANYTHING HE SAYS OR SAID WHEN HE WAS A MEMBER OF THIS SITE, HE WAS DEAD ON RIGHT ABOUT THIS ONE!!! To bad the season ended like this but it is what it is I guess. Question is, can Fitz do this again next year or does Petty or someone else beat him out for the job?

I feel really bad for Fitz and Marshall (especially) for coming this far in their careers and not making the playoffs NOT once. Marshall has been a beast his entire career pretty much and not been apart of one play off team, out of 4 teams. That's gotta sting! Fitz hasn't been the best and average at best throughout his career with 6 teams but with the year he had this year, to not make it also has got to sting just as much. Damn shame!

no need to rush into re-signing Fitzpatrick...

think the team/coaches will need to re-evaluate the progression of Petty from OTAs last off season to where he is now before they contemplate what they need at the QB position...

there will be key moves this off season nothing much more than the one above but there is potential as I always said... from day one knew that this team had what it takes to have a bounce back season and have the chance for the playoffs but knew it would be a tough feat...

still believe we are a few pieces away from being a complete team and now we have a regime to build one...

Fitz would be the perfect back-up, if only they could find their true franchise young QB. Whether that be Petty, sign in FA or someone they draft or trade for. I hope it's Petty that takes the reigns but maybe he doesn't. Not throwing the towel away on Fitz but I think we all see we need a little more out of that position. Actually a lot more to make us a true SB contender.

Sign him to a one year deal. If Chan were to leave for some reason the Fitz won't have same success.

I thought at the beginning of the year that the Jets other parts of the team would be strong enough to carry either Geno or Fitz to the playoffs with 10 or 11 wins. I realize now that I was wrong and Fitz played a much bigger role to help get this team to 10 wins. The defense was suspect and it doesn't matter that they were a top ten defense, they were very suspect. The running game was very inconsistent because of the lingering injuries to Ivory and Powell. If not for that, the running game could have been #1 or #2.

The passing game was all Marshall and Decker and later Powell when he was healthy. Geno wouldn't have been able to rely on only those three and put up the numbers Fitz did. The Giants and Pats overtime games the Jets would have lost with Geno. With Geno, I now see with the way this team performed overall they would have been a 8-8 or 7-9 team. So props to Fitz and all the JFN posters that called before the year started. Sad thing is 10 wins wasn't enough to get in the playoffs this year. Or maybe it was just the 10 wins they won that hurt them.

I was one of the group that lived the Fitz trade. Any other team it wouldn't matter, but this team this year, it was a necessary move.
I think you give him a deal in the 5-6 range after this loss, for 2 guaranteed years.

Anyone who pays attention, knows petty is not ready, forcing him on the field would be a bad choice. Resign yourselves to not see him until 2017. That's what he needs. All the reports indicate this as best case for him, he is a project.

Further more, worth this new cba, petty gets no meaningful reps as the 3rd string, so he's not learning much at all. This isn't the nfl were used to where a guy could ride the bench, learn the book and get some good practice time. The starters don't even get enough reps, this cba with its restrictions on practice is horrific.

Thank you for uncovering some sunshine; Fitz "taught" Petty plenty this season. Let's hope he was in school.

It is not that Petty learned from watching Fitzpatrick but the body of work he did behind the closed doors that fans are not privy to see... Come this off season, training camp and OTAs fans will see the progression he has made... Watching him in college saw his potential, and with what I heard from inside sources at Florham Park they are really pleased on his development thus far... Yes he still is in that developmental stage but as for transitioning they are pleased that he could be ready to be the clear backup next season behind Fitzpatrick if they retain him...

We should2 have another in the barn
The barn door opens in FA for a cheap insurance veteran and then again in April for the draft

Fitzpatrick resigns and starts

Bryce competes with the insurance vet and the draftee for the 2 spot

Did I leave anybody out in this post??
