The Jets have so many holes on this year's roster and between free agency and the draft there are options to be had... With a plethora of draft picks General Manager Joe Douglas will have options to hit on several key positions...

Foundation is key, and the Jets have some picks that they hit on in 2021 Draft on the day 3 in Michael Carter II, Brandin Echols, Jason Pinnock, Hamsah Nasirildeen, Jamien Sherwood... These players are the building blocks to continue revamping the defense into the ideal defense that Robert Saleh and D.C. Jeff Ulbrich invision.

In the trenches we have a superstar in the making in Quinnen Williams, we signed Carl Lawson who suffered a season ending injury and we have extended an up and coming defensive lineman in John Franklin Myers not to mention the second year edge rusher Bryce Huff who should come off short term IR soon. The Jets did draft a third day defensive lineman in Jonathan Marshall who may develop into a mainstay rotational guy... Two interior linemen are free agents in Folorunso Fatukasi and Nathan Sheperd... Possibly they re-sign one but not both... Could they draft someone on day 3 to fill the void? Someone like Haskell Garrett from Ohio State could be an option...

Outside the defensive line another problem is the depth across the linebacker position... Players have emerged as keepers early this season in Quinnen's older brother Quincy who was claimed off waivers from the Jacksonville Jaguars... Other players like Del'Shawn Phillips, and the two rookies Hamsah Nasirildeen and Jamien Sherwood have found roles early this season and are expected to take the next step next year... Question mark in veteran CJ Mosley and Jarrad Davis ability to orchestrate within the game plan is up for debate but this year there are plenty of linebacker prospects that the Jets could target for starting roles and depth... Players like Christian Harris from Bama could replace the current veteran Bama at OLB... Another option on the inside is starting to move up the draft boards is LSU's Damone Clark who has surpassed 120 tackles at this point in the season... Other notable options Nakobe Dean, Quay Walker from Georgia are among a large list...

The main issue a young secondary with open holes for depth and need with veteran free agents after this season... Jarrod Wilson, Sharrod Neasman and franchise tagged Marcus Maye all likely to his free agency... Safety is a big need and can be repaired through the draft... Unlikely will the Jets draft Kyle Hamilton from Notre Dame but a player to keep an eye on is Lewis Cine, who is being ranked as the third best safety in this draft... Another option could be Troy Polamalu's nephew Isaiah Pola Mao from USC... Both prospects should be high on the Jets draft boards...

Secondary is not just safeties but corners... Javelin Guidry is a promising nickel corner, along with rookie MC2 who has stolen the show this year... Brandin Echols just put on IR this week has potential... Bryce Hall considered a top player in his second year... But the unknowns of Jason Pinnock, Isaiah Dunn and recently acquired Rachad Wildgoose opens the door for the team to explore options through the draft... Over 40 said corner prospects are said to attempt to get drafted this year from the secondary position so expecting at least 8 should be options through the draft for the Jets... Keep an eye on these guys: Derek Stingley Jr. from LSU, Josh Jobe Bama, Derion Kendrick UGA, Tykee Smith UGA, and Roger McCreary, Auburn are all solid outside corners that seem we need to keep an eye on...
