The Jets have so many holes on this year's roster and between free agency and the draft there are options to be had... With a plethora of draft picks General Manager Joe Douglas will have options to hit on several key positions...
Mekhi Becton, Alijah Vera Tucker are the start of an Offensive Line rebuild anchored by young veteran Connor McGovern... This upcoming draft has enough IOL & Tackle talent to complete the right side of the line while still capable of finding a developmental prospect to work behind McGovern as a possible replacement down the road as well as immediate depth... Kenyon Green, Zion Johnson and Cade Mays are all scheme fit guards that can fill the need at right guard... From Evan Neal, Daniel Faalele, Darian Kinnard and Trevor Penning options at right tackle...
After this season the depth and talent at the receiver position falls off... Jamison Crowder, Keelan Cole and Braxton Berrios are free agents... Does anyone of the three come back? Jeff Smith is an ERFA will likely be back... But looking at the position the players under contract are Corey Davis, Denzel Mims and Elijah Moore, so drafting one or two prospects could be in the cards for this year... One player to keep an eye out is Penn State Jahan Dotson...
Tight End position is deep this year from Jalen Wydermyer to Jahleel Billingsley and Trey McBride even Isaiah Likely the Jets could double dip on day two grabbing at least two tight ends to maybe join together with Kenny Yeboah and Trevon Wesco as this position needs to be overhauled in a bad way...
Zach Wilson is the future but as we seen he is accessible to getting hurt until he manicures his game style... So do we keep a veteran like Josh Johnson or Joe Flacco as the backup moving forward or do the Jets brass decide to draft a day 3 QB to develop as the number two?
Running back position, the Jets have found their RB1 a due it all back but literally nowadays you need at least three on the roster at least... So Ty next year will be in his final year of his rookie contract with Michael Carter a nice tandem but will La'Mical Perine continue to be an after thought, wasting a roster spot or will they attempt to re-sign veteran Tevin Coleman? My thought, last years teammate of our rookie star receiver Elijah Moore and newly signed tight end Kenny Yeboah is RB Jerrion Ealy... Same size and aggressiveness as Michael Carter would give the team multiple options at running back...
