If I was a betting man, we may have a surprise lurking so far throughout training camp one receiver keeps popping up on my timeline, that is third receiver out of California Chris Harper... To date he has caught everything thrown his way and is earning more and more snaps as training camp goes along... Not saying this is a lock but it is intriguing... The wide receiver position on the Jets is a land of opportunity for un-established players... Harper looked very good on Saturday night... He ran a great corner route in 7 on 7 drills to get open for a touchdown... He later shook Buster Skrine for a long touchdown in the 11 on 11 portion of the practice...

There is another third guy also making some noise in Myles White out of La. Tech getting some praise... We may have lost our best receiver on this roster in Q but there are options available... Now no one is going to replace Enunwa but we may have just enough potential to suffice through this season...

Who are locks, as of now maybe three in Robby Anderson, Chad Hansen and ArDarius Stewart... So how many receivers will we keep? Now that Q went down they may scale back to five and add an additional body to either running back or tight end...

Players that are on the bubble from last season are Jalin Marshall (who is suspended for the 1st 4 games) and 7th Rounder Charone Peake...

Expect Hansen and Anderson to get a lot work on the outside and hopefully Stewart can be that impact slot guy... Add in Harper and White we may just have a competitive fiver for whomever is under center...

Don't forget our running backs in a way are like additional receivers on the field so this will help boost the production by some...

Add to the equation ASJ and Leggett, who have shown promise so far. It's gonna be spread around, so Quality receiving RBs like Forte and Powell, and TEs will get plenty of touches. It may be dink and dunk, but that plays into whomever plays QB. It was always going to be a rocky, developmental year, and now that is clearer than ever. I'm looking forward to watching our rookies like Hansen, Stewart, Legget and McGuire play and develop hopefully along with Hackenberg.

I didn't mean to exclude the tight ends but I know there is a chance we may keep an additional one if they only go with 5 receivers... I also want to state even tho I didn't place Lucky Whitehead on the receiver depth chart is I really don't know if he belongs yet... We need someone not only versatile as a returner but someone who can help out this inexperienced receiver group... Now I did post a video in camp updates of Hack to Lucky end zone drills but that is a limited excerpt of if he can be an impact player on offense... He has the twitch (quickness) some long speed and maybe enough skills that the team goes with six receivers but like I said both Harper and White have been camp standouts thus far and would rather see them get their chance especially if we only go five wide outs...

After ASJ and Leggett the only tight ends we should be looking at are blocking ends, so Eric Tomlinson and if he can stay healthy Chris Gragg... The one tight end that intrigues me because he does a little bit of everything is Jason Vander Laan... If we keep four tight ends then it comes down to Gragg verse Vander Laan because the other three look to be locks... For me after ASJ and Leggett, Vander Laan gives enough versatility to upend Tomlinson as the blocker but this team has been unpredictable in their thinking the last few years...

VanderLaan was a college QB, so he offers some flexibility as an emergency QB.

As for emergency QB that would be better than lining up Bilal Powell or Robby Anderson in the wild cat formation...

Not quite sure any WR can take his place. Didn't necessarily think Enunwa was going to be a juggernaut either but I did think with a half way decent QB he could be good for about 70 catches. It will must likely have to be a combination of all combined (WR/RB/TE). TEs mainly having to pick up the slack. If there is a WR to make up for Enunwa by himself, he probably isn't on the roster now.

not trying to replace what Q brought, just stating who is likely to grab his active roster spot...
