QB Market Drying Up

With Dalton to the Bears and Tyrod on a cheap deal to Houston, makes me wonder if we took to long to Trade Sam. Only team I see is maybe the Saints. Or perhaps its Darnold, Mosley and our 2 #1’s for Watson. Or perhaps we keep Sam another year.
Thoughts?????

Saints have Winston and Hill ,they are not in the market.
Panthers seem like best/ last opportunity. Dont believe there was much interest and certainly never had 8 teams making offers as reported.

49ers
Broncos
Panthers
Vikings

are four teams that have questions at QB position

as for other teams to have interest if and when the Jets put him on the trade block only then will teams consider a change

WFT
Bears
Saints

will also be added to the list and it will grow

but I believe Sam is staying put...

Sam was put on the trade block the minute Douglas said he would take calls for him

According to reports I read, WFT is still interested in Sam even though they just signed Fitzpatrick.

Maybe they think Sam can actually learn something when he has someone to learn from.

And Andy Dalton just signed a one year $10 million deal with Chicago.

Who wants a loser?
Oh yea , it’s not his fault it’s everything else.
I don’t care how much the new coach or the GM says how good he is .
The league knows , and no one is giving up a premium draft pick for Sam .
If the Jets can’t move him ( maybe for lesser than what everybody was saying ) they are stuck in the mud again.
Hope JD didn’t overplay his hand .
We shall see , I little ways to go before the draft
But it’s moving up closer, fast

Could be they think the same about Taylor Heinicke or Kyle Allen .

According to @Kim Jones, the WFT is no longer interested in Sam Darnold
Probably had none to begin with
And to top that
Washington will sign Fitzpatrick to a one-year deal worth up to $12 million
16 year old QB
Passing on Darnold
Wait
Wait
He’s only 23
A great talent
Was ruined by previous coach
Had mono
A poor offensive line
No receivers

yea right
Everyone sees through this bullshit
I’m hoping Saleh does to

We have no choice but to leave it up to the experts, as I'm sure the jets FO and CS have been all over this. There are a number of potential explanations (and not necessarily damnations of Darnold) as to why WFT and Bears appear to be going in another direction:
  1. Bears and WFT will be trading up and selecting one of the top 5 QBs in the draft and are looking for veteran placeholders. Bears didn't make the move until the Wilson pursuit was rejected.;
  2. Both Bears and WFT could also still be in the Sam market and are just being careful by adding a veteran presence;
  3. It's possible that jets have sent signals that Sam gets another year unless a team is willing to overwhelm JD with an offer. JD has played this game successfully with the Seahawks and may feel it can work again. This could be the correct answer; and
  4. JD will be paying close attention to the Wilson and Fields pro days and may decide that is the route he goes, but until then the decision by all accounts is up in the air. Bears and WFT can't afford to have their cupboard bare in the meantime.
Its amazing to me how every action by another team has to be a validation of your disdain for Darnold. I think that JD is holding all of the cards here and will make an informed decision as to how to go forward. Who knows it may even involve a deal for Watson, although I for one hope not.

Look Darnold has dried up already so this is why the Butterscotch sports networks says he will be on the jets this year. He will play like a jet

My disdain needs no validation form anywhere
His play on the field for 3 years as the NY Jets QB is all that is needed

And it’s amazing to me that you guys are OK with him for another year

By the way
I don’t have any disdain for Darnold
He just sucks as a starting QB
