NEW ORLEANS -- Looking to add depth at quarterback following an injury to starting quarterback Adam Kennedy in Saturday's win over the Spokane Shock, the New Orleans VooDoo have been assigned NCAA record-breaking quarterback Sam Durley.
Durley (6-3, 230, Eureka) joins the VooDoo for his first season in the AFL following a standout career at Eureka College (Ill.). Durley's major mark was left in the NCAA record books when he passed for a single-game college football record of 736 yards against Knox College in 2012. In 39 games for the Red Devils, Durley completed 572-of-1,141 passes for 8,172 yards and 61 touchdowns. By the time his career in Eureka was over, Durley had set or tied nine school records.
