The Falcons playbook disappeared during one of the pre-superbowl press conferences. A few hours later it was returned by an espn reporter who claimed that he "picked up the wrong briefcase". Pretty clearly belichick had it "borrowed " and copied for future use if needed. returning the playbook made it less likely that the falcons would try and change things, especially a day or 2 before the superbowl. You can look this up if you didn't hear about it or don't believe me.
The one guy who gave belichick fits? Mike Shanahan, I believe, the only guy with a winning record vs. the belickean cheatahs. You should all remember this from the game that we should have won against the Broncos that would have sent our Jets to the superbowl. belichicks defense shut out the Broncos for a half and then couldn't stop anything in the second half. Kyle Shanahan the Falcons offensive coordinator and Mikes son had to scare belichick so clearly he needed to find an advantage. How about the Falcons offensive playbook? I'd say that would help the cheatah cause
Atlanta had a Qb who could win games but never could win the big one. This is the kind of guy that belichick could easily prey on but Shanahan still had to make him nervous. belichick being the cocky s.o.b. that he is, figured he'd go out in the first half and see if he could win the game without cheating. By half time it was clear he couldn't so he broke out the Falcons playbook. Belichick knew that all it would take to get in Matt Ryans head was the hint of a comeback and Ryan would fall apart. He went from prolific scoring machine to "mr. I can't even get one 1st down in the 2nd half to win the game"
pretty clear to me. Once a cheatah, always a cheatah
