Question: MetLife Stadium

Here's a quick question that I presume has an easy answer... (Money)?

When it decided to knock down Giants Stadium and make the Jets and Gnats Co tenants (owners?) why did they not build a dome or Stadium with more cover/roof for the fans.

With NY being a northern state and the NFL played in the autumn/winter surely it would have made more sense - was OT money or some other reason?

Because football is meant to be played outdoors and has been since the 1900s

And because domed/covered stadiums pretty much SUCK

The New Jersey Sports & Exposition Authority wanted a dome in the worst way. They even had set forth a plan that they would pay for the roof. Mara and the Giant family were totally against it and almost walked away from the initial plan if at they were forced into it . They felt that playing in the North East (weather conditions) was an advantage .
