Las Vegas Raiders and Jacksonville Jaguars are close to coming to an agreement on a trade for defensive end Yannick Ngakoue. The Raiders are offering the 19th-overall pick in the first round, while Jacksonville is asking for the 12th-overall pick. Sources say they don't believe the Jaguars will get a better offer than a late top-20 pick, as Ngakoue has already stated that he won't sign an extension with Jacksonville. Those team staffers feel that the Jaguars could come around to doing the trade for the 19th pick because Ngakoue has painted them into a corner.

The Jaguars placed the franchise tag on Ngakoue, but he has requested a trade and has openly feuded with Jaguars co-owner Tony Khan on Twitter. League sources say that there are a lot of problems in the Jacksonville locker room, as evidenced by the Jalen Ramsey saga among other issues. There is concern about Ngakoue's teammates taking his side over ownership if the turmoil continues, and it would make sense for Jacksonville to move on from the edge rusher.

The Raiders have been seeking to improve their defense and pass rush since Mike Mayock took over. Last year, the team improved its talent on the edge with the selections of Clelin Ferrell and Maxx Crosby. Crosby had a sensational rookie season, with 10 sacks and four forced fumbles, while Ferrell had 4.5 sacks in his debut. Ngakoue would give Las Vegas a lead pass rusher and the potential for dominant trio with the two second-year pros. Las Vegas would look to sign Ngakoue to a lucrative long-term extension if the trade is made.

The two teams are engaged in discussions with hopes of getting the trade done before the 2020 NFL Draft starts on Thursday night.
