I've never seen a team remain in their old city while their new stadium in another city is being built. Intersting how this will be received by their Oakland fans.

It's terrible timing. Just when the Raiders are starting to surge, have a franchise QB, they're getting ready to bolt.

For what it's worth, the Oakland Coliseum is an outdated dump.

Bad few days down by the East Bay

First, two members of Tower of Power get hit by a train and now they are losing the Raiders (again)

I get the feeling that this move is a really bad idea

I don't understand what is going on. Too much greed. i think it'll be hard for them to establish home field advantage in Vegas imo.

Three things I can say on this matter..

1. I live in Las Vegas and there is a huge population of Raider fans here....We have a lot California transplants. So I think there is a solid base for them to re-locate here and be successful. As well as Vegas is a destination weekend getaway city for so many people on the west coast that I do believe there will be a lot of people planning their weekend getaway around the game they want to attend.. As well as having worked in the casinos knowing how many tickets Casinos will buy to give to guests and offer in packages will fill the stadium easy.. Specifically because it's room taxes on tourists that's paying for the stadium.. More people in their hotel, more $$ for them as well.

2. Knowing someone close in City of Oaklands Mayors office I can tell you this if they had a list of 100 things they wanted to accomplish for the city of Oakland, keeping the Raiders was 101... sad but true

3. I hate teams relocating.... I think the cities shouldn't have to pay for the stadiums , I think that should be on the NFL and the owners with minor assistance from the city.....

I wonder if Woody will move the Jets

Well you know that they are having problem with ticket and PSL sales as noted by the ridiculous frequency of phones calls we all got in the first few years and special deals like extra seats without PSL payments or upgrading 300 level seat holders to a game at the Coaches Club etc,, but, financially, is there anyway to get out of the Meadowlands? Also, other than London, where could they go?

Agree. Especially about the "destination weekend" part. Vegas is a short plane ride from the Bay Area. You've got it all: leave Friday night, spend Saturday at the casinos or golf course, then head to the strip clubs (or restaraunts if you're not into that) Sat night, and go see the Raiders on Sunday. Fly home Sunday night, and you're back to work Monday morning.

The owners will never allow a team in Vegas. Way too close to so much corruption, it's almost inviting it in. The NFL owners have the government to answer to, especially where they possess a monopoly clause. There's NO way the owners will ever allow the Raiders to relocate to Vegas.

Gambling and corruption in Sports has happened forever.. Before Las Vegas became VEgas it happened. The fear has always been that if there was a team in Vegas it would be easier, more accessible for corruption to happen..... When the reality is that any groups intending on trying to bribe playes, teams etc to influence that outcome of a game can easily be done from anywhere in the world now.....So the idea that owners won't allow it, is very short sighted and let's not forget some of the most influential owners are behind the Vegas move... I.E.... Kraft, Jones, Snyder and others including Woody have said they are open to the idea of the Raiders moving..... No owner will begrudge another owner from making a move for their team if it is profitable for said owner and there is no viable option for them to stay in their current City.

And Oakland has done Zero to keep the Raiders.... The Ronnie Lott project isn't even an Oakland deal.... They would literally own the land the property and rent to the Raiders and split game day profits.... Not a good deal for any team in this day and age
