He was hampered with a bad ankle during his last season and still managed to be a close second to Devante Adams. The ankle has been surgically repaired so he can play pain free this season. His presence will not only provide us with another excellent receiver but our young receivers are bound to get even better just learning from him. It's only a 1 year deal and I like it.

I like all the former Packers joining the Jets. That means less time needed to get the rest of the offense up to speed with the new OC, terminology, and pre snap reads/communication from ARod. Definitely should get off to a good start this year.

I think he will get situational snaps as a slot receiver. He doesn't have great speed anymore but he does have great hands. You'll not likely see him drop the game winning catch in the end zone like Berrios did.

Seriously. In the olden days, the Jets might have taken a past-his-prime guy like this and expected him to be a starter, paying him accordingly. His role on the team will be limited. But just bringing him in on the presumably cheap, in a limited role, hardly seems to be too big a deal.

Exactly. And Cobb was still productive last year for the role he had.
