RB Elijah McGuire: Dealing with foot injury

McGuire, who left practice Friday due to a foot injury, didn't take the field Saturday, Eric Allen of the Jets' official site reports.

McGuire was seemingly in contention for a pass-catching role out of the backfield this season, at the very least, despite recording 17 receptions in 16 games as a rookie in 2017. The nature of his injury is unknown, but the Jets backfield has been whittled down to four healthy bodies (Isaiah Crowell, Bilal Bowell, Thomas Rawls and Trenton Cannon) just days into training camp.

Alfred Morris came in for a visit yesterday.

Nuts. It's a part of camp, but I have high hopes for this kid.

They brought in Alfred Morris for a visit. They might sign him to replace McGuire

Morris has some miles on those wheels, but there are few better options on the market at this point.

This is a HUGE opportunity for Trenton Cannon to show what he has.

It depends if it is a clean break then he could be back after the first half of the season... reason why they brought in Alfred Morris is they expect to keep McGuire out all season... if it is a clean break would be 8 to 10 weeks to heal... if he needs surgery then it could be up to 3 months before he is able to do PT...

Darkwa was also in today for a visit. Shame, I thought we would get to see alot more of McGuire this season .

You have to wonder if Trenton Cannon will get a fair shot to replace McGuire's role as he has the wheels and dynamic ability to be that dual option...

be interesting how they replace this loss...
