I agree with the comments that right now this is just a rumor without corroborated facts. I'll start with Christopher Johnson - in my opinion he has been a leader in standing with the players for social justice issues. He has done an exceptional job in this regard.

Woody has never been known as someone who is particularly bright, but his actions running the team have always been pro-social justice, and he has never been remotely perceived as sexist or racist. So let's wait and see what happens before passing judgment.

Lastly - on the ridiculous ghost thing, just stop Butterscotch. If you don't like Darnold, that's fine. But leave the ghosts thing alone. It was wrong then, and it's wrong now. The kid was on the bench, and that should never have been aired. The fact that WFAN still talks about it doesn't help give it any credibility. That's not exactly a reputable news outlet. Continuing to harp on it only perpetuates the pervasive negative sentiment about this team. And right now, we could all use a little positive in our lives. For the record, I'm definitely a firm believer in Darnold. He's the real deal, no doubt in my mind. He can be one of the best QBs in the league if the fans and the franchise will let the kid develop. He's younger than Joe Burrow! And last year, there were multiple games where he played at a Pro Bowl level. For example: Go back and watch the Dallas game (I was there). Darnold made one bad throw the entire game. The rest of the game, he played at an elite level, with some remarkable throws - one of the best games by a QB we've seen here in a decade.

The one bad game against the Patriots stands out. But people love to forget that if you look back at other great players - they had plenty of those games too, especially earlier in their careers. Go watch film of Aikman, Petyon Manning, Eli Manning, Kurt Warner, Philip Rivers, Joe Montana, Steve Young, Brett Favre - I could go on and on. You will see 4-5 INT games where nothing went right. It happens. Get over it already. And put that ridiculous ghost comment to bed already.
if we had a post of the week icon, i would clicked on!!

you hit a lot of nails right on the head!!

All ghost lives matter!!! Did you call the Post & WFAN?? So call them up first before you come after me. I have said I hope he does well how many times????? Do I need to say that 200 times. . I liked Otis Campbell that does not mean I can't make fun of him.

What is a reputable news outlet by the way?

I have only said the ghost thing on here a couple of times (Posts) during the last six months is that too much? Come on I hear it on radio & see it in print way more then that. LOL

"If the fans and the franchise will let the kid develop." You got to be kidding......we are to blame now.......No Its the Kid that needs to grow up & he may just do that but don't go blaming the fans for the Ghosts & his passing out? If the fans ruin him he is weak tell that to General Grant or Patton. This is America get tough.

I want him to do well (50 more times to go lol) Just prove it to us?
I have said what you are saying a few times even about one of my favorite players Jim Hart. so are you only seeing what you want to pick on. I report & you decide.

So keep your dreams alive & lets hope people stay safe on & off the field As far as Johnson We got to see how this comes out........ Maybe he went after the Queen????

He hired two african-american HC's, and kept them around long after they proved ineffective.

Yes he did ,
God I hope he doesn’t do the same with Gase

Continuing to harp on it only perpetuates the pervasive negative sentiment about this team.

You can't blame Butter for the pervasive negativity
The Jets and the org take care of that by themselves
And until they win nothing will change that
Not even all the positive wishes of Jet posters
Some guys are sold on Darnold and some want to see him prove it ( I'm in the latter) 2 years 11wins 15 loses
Ive been with this team way too many years to get my hopes up by thinking and wishing players are better than what they are

Let's see it on the field and go from there.
The pessimism has been brewing for 50 + years that just doesn't go away .

Big Mo,

I get it. I've been a fan nearly as long as you. Totally understand the sentiment and the "prove it to me" mentality. But let's look at the facts, two years, two systems, abysmal o-line, mediocre skill players. And he got sick last year which took a while to recover from. It would be hard for any QB to win in that circumstance. I used some of the greats as examples - Manning, Aikman struggled mightily early in their careers on bad teams. Heck, Drew Brees looked mediocre at best in San Diego with a below average roster. There are plenty of other examples of QBs who started out actually worse than Darnold and went on to have brilliant careers.

This is my opinion, but I've seen enough of Darnold to believe that he has all the physical tools, the mental makeup and leadership ability to be a very good NFL QB, and possibly better than that. He needs some help with the roster. I think this offseason and draft was a step in that direction. And a second year in this offense should help him as well.

Now I agree he needs to prove it - but there's no reason to be down on him at this point. A degree of skepticism, sure. But an outright negative opinion of him, not warranted in my view.

So true I go back to 77 with season tickets & I left twice....I feel your pain as you have had it for much longer. We all want the D man to do great but humor keeps us going all these years,,,,,,,& the Jets sure feed us enough material

So now Adams jumps on this using the political environment as his crutch.
I can't stand this guy
Bigmoe maybe we are just old but I can't stand him too.......Send him packing...even if we win a SB with him I want to like my players.

I blame my own personal negativity on the Jets. pretty sure I could sue them for it and win

I wish Darnold had taken control of and won a couple games on his own. if he had done that, then I would feel much better about him

right now all I can say about the kid is that he's pretty good at running for his life

So, no one is going to start a thread about his comments huh? Ok fine, then I’ll do it! I observed today on the ESPN ticker, it was confirmed that Woody did make those comments. Time to make this bastards sell the team, Commissioner!!! As a black man, I can truly say I am not proud to call myself a New York football Jets fan!

If this is true, and I've seen the reports too - then Woody needs to step down as owner of the Jets, it's that simple. Christopher would run the team. I don't know if they would be forced to sell it, but it's possible if the league steps in. And they might have to do so. It's embarrassing to be a Jets fan sometimes because of their play on the field, ridiculous incidents off the field, but this runs much deeper than that. This is not ok and cannot be condoned in any way shape or form.
