Reporter Manish Mehta has been removed from the Jets beat

It’s unclear at the moment who will replace Mehta. Obviously, the New York Daily News felt pressured and made the right decision.

The New York Daily News fired Mehta after scandalous details came out about him late last month.

Manish Mehta also deleted his Twitter account. I am guessing he’ll be fading from the public eye as well.

The first major detail of Mehta’s misbehavior was stalking the son of Jets’ general manager Joe Douglas. Craig Carton of WFAN confirmed this report made by EA producer Erika Esola-Imburgio.

Not only removed from Jets' beat, but fired from Daily News. Listening to Boomer this am, he said NYDN is getting out in front of some troubling news regarding Mehta. As if we didn't know he was an asshole, apparently there is even more troubling aspects of Mehta that is about to be publicized in the Washington Post. That is what I gleaned from Boomer and Gio this am.

It took way too long for the Daily News to act. They end up looking worse than usual. And honestly, the Daily News should spend a bit of time without an insider for a while.
