I've never gotten the impression that Revis is dumb enough to instigate something like this. This is what I suspected all along.

Wonder who got paid more; the lawyer,his buddy (who took the fall) or the two punching bags?

It's so stupid that the cops arrested him so quickly when they didn't have a case. They couldn't even get a single charge to stick. The cops allegations from the start included the unknown man being the one who punched these guys.

What's even dumber (or typical) is the immediate rush to judgment by fans and media before all the facts come out.

The good news from all of this from a Jets perspective is that this increases the potential for another team to sign Revis. Every dollar he gets from another team is offset against our cap. I'm hearing that he is looking for $8 million to play next year. I'm not certain that he'll get anything near that, but even if he gets $4 million thats great news for us.

Jason La Canfora reporting that if Revis continues to play, he's going back to the Patriots, per "sources close to Revis, and the Pats". They're convinced his short range coverage is still solid and that the safeties are strong enough to back him up.

He'd probably give them a discount since we're still on the hook for him next year.

I wonder which of the media pundits will hail this move as brilliant by the Patsies? Hell...we would get bashed if Revis paid us Jets to play......

Jets do it and Todd Bowles is the worst coach ever. Even with a front row seat to the declind of Revis' ability he brings him back. Pats do it. Belicheck has a plan and will get the most out of this future Hall of Famer. Sound move by the Pats yada yada yada

listen, i also have a strong dislike for the patriots but here's a few uncomfortable truths;

if NE brings back revis, it will be for short money, probably with incentives..

if NE brings back revis, belichick unlike bowles, will not pretend he's still in his prime.. hell, they knew as much when they first rented him..

if NE brings back revis, belichick will let him know before the deal is even offered, whatever the hell happen with the jets last year ain't gonna fly here.. you will get cut (quickly) if you're washed up & or don't give a shit about playing football anymore..

so yeah, if NE brings back revis, it will be because they think he can help them win another super bowl, not as an expensive publicity stunt like we did..

Absolutely right. Bowles was downright frustrating when insisting Revis could play cb1 without help.

I do wonder is Bowles was falsely confident in Revis, or really doubted the rest of the backs more than Revis. Perhaps in between a rock and a hard spot.
