yeah this guy destroyed a lot of good will with the fanbase....then when it was over the lightbulbs went on and realized he didn't have a 'home' and started showing Jets some love. I was a huuuuge fan and will defend his abilities vs anyone....but I can honestly say he doesn't feel like Jet family.

#24 was the greatest man to man one on one coverage CB of All-Time; and he revolutionized the CB position like no other.

Not even #21 Deion Primetime Sanders was asked to do what Darrelle Revis did while on an island (and with no Safety help). Not always (Rice/Irvin etc) but often times (most of the times) Deion would line up against opposing teams #2 WRs while his coaches rolled over coverage and double teamed their #1 WRs; but not #24.

Revis shadowed #1 WRs everywhere they went (one on one and on an island and with no Safety help) and he single handedly revolutionized the CB position (because before #24; no one played the position as he once did).
I think the more accurate way to put what you're hinting at is he played the CB spot like no other since the passing game has been revolutionized by modern pass interference rules. IMO, Sanders NOW would be a god in this environment - for what he may be criticized for in past is not allowed now (contact)and his skillset of being a fast closer plays well nowadays.

One of the best cornerbacks to ever do it and a definite 1st ballot guy. Glad he was a Jet!

Jets made a business decision
no Idzik didn't want to attempt to negotiate with his camp made the easy decision to trade him like he was doing it for the benefit of the team but in reality he had no business sense when it camp to player talent as you can see with his successful 12 pick draft that set us back years...

can't hire an accountant to be an NFL general manager because he will always avoid paying players to save a buck rather then pay the talent to help grow the brand...
