Darrelle Revis will not be going to the Pro Bowl. (He didn't actually deserve to make the team).

Suffered a bruised ego at some point vs. Buffalo. Still recovering.

Mo/Revis/Marshall all out…

Means for the second-straight year, only Nick Mangold will be in Hawaii.

Darrelle Revis wasn't on the Week 17 injury report. No injuries that the Jets are aware of suffered in the season finale vs Bills. #nyj

Confirmed that Revis won't play in Pro Bowl. Jets aren't giving any information on his undisclosed "injury." #nyj

LOL

Got to say the Jets' beat writers really are a pack of Jackals.

Revis suffered a severe concussion toward the end of the season. I'm sure he doesn't want to bang his gourd in a glorified flag football game with $17,000,000 on the table next year. Can't say as I blame him.

The Pro Bowl is a crock of crap any how. haven't watched one in about 25 years

Miami Herald reporting that Darrelle Revis was spotted eating at a Japanese restaurant in South Beach last night. Sounds like he's OK

Jets CB Darrelle Revis to skip Pro Bowl because of undisclosed injury

6:50 PM ET
Rich Cimini
ESPN Staff Writer

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis has withdrawn from the Pro Bowl because of an injury. Or something.

The news was delivered by the San Diego Chargers, who announced that Jason Verrett -- the first alternate -- will replace the "injured" Revis in the Jan. 31 all-star game. A source confirmed that Revis won't play.

This is interesting because Revis didn't appear on the Week 17 injury report and he played the entire game against the Buffalo Bills. The next day, he made no mention of an injury when discussing his un-Revis-like performance against Sammy Watkins.

The Jets declined to give out any information Thursday night when contacted about Revis' decision to pull out of the Pro Bowl. Revis' agent also was tight-lipped, directing queries to the Jets.

Weird.

Earlier in the day, general manager Mike Maccagnan discussed Revis during his end-of-the-season session with reporters. He was asked if the team is happy with the first-year return on its massive investment -- a five-year, $70 million contract, including $39 million fully guaranteed.

"I think so overall," he said. "Todd (Bowles) mentioned this the other day. I think Darrelle is a very good corner. As Todd said, sometimes you have good games and bad games. It comes with that position, the style of defense we play, too. But I'm very happy to have Darrelle back in the organization, not only for his ability as a player but what he brought to the team. ... I know it was a very aggressive move on our part, but I'm very happy with the results from it."

It's only a story when Revis decides to skip. Doesn't nearly everyone that is any good bow out?

Nah LGM your mistaken. Cimini used to be the absolute A H of Jets media. That role has clearly been taken by Mehta.

Cimini is still snarky as hell, but since he's been with ESPN he has written some good articles.

Mehta has taken his role over at the NYDN.

.Look at the crap that all their Jets writers put out.........It's kind of embarrassing.

Good lord, these beat guys blow.

Seriously?!

Hey Cimini & Mehta,

As a Jet fan, for the love of all that either of you feel is holy, please stop with this nonsense reporting. The ProBowl is a joke. If a player opts out, he opts out. Most of us will be perfectly fine with his decision. To somehow spin this is simply irresponsible journalism. Report the news, not your take on it.

"Revis opts out of Pro Bowl" works.

Sincerely,

The Claw

Newspaper media is a dying industry! We need to stop clicking their links! It's sad that they are the only reporters out there that cover this tesm

I don't want ANY of our guys risking injury playing in a pointless game. I want them to start healing and rest the moment the season ends.

Nobody cares about the pro bowl anyway.

All "all star" games are a joke. The only slightly watchable one is MLB
