Rex Ryan is killing the Jets with his commentary on ESPN and seems to be enjoying himself while doing it. I can’t blame him because every HC we’ve had since him has stunk. A whole lot worse then him I might add. I must admit that I miss Rex right now. Yes he was an idiot in a lot of his decisions but he coached a relevant team.

His Jets teams played hard for him in the good and bad years. I don’t even recognize this shit that’s on the field now. Plus Rex didn’t have Darnold, he had Sanchez. Imagine Rex with Darnold and the teams he had his first 2-3 years here. I think we all can agree that Darnold was a much better QB then Sanchez was from day one.

I would take Rex Ryan back in a min. Right now Jets needs to prom ote our Defensive Cord. to Head Coach today. If we dont I expect a loss to Fins and Giants in next 2 games. Darnold is absolutely terrified of dying out there and I think that was because of the fear the Doctors and Coaches put on him about getting hit and dying. I noticed since coming back from Mono he hasnt been as confident holding the ball to last split second to pass to take a hit. Darnolds feet are all over the place being so terrified being told by Doctors and Coaches the risks of getting hit and dying from a hit to spline that it has carried over in last games. Best way is calm him down with running the ball. I feel so sorry for him. Just looking at the Terror on his face every time he is snapped the ball. Gaise will not accept he is responsible for awful play calling and will cut Players this week blaming the Players. Look, Jags vs Jets I thought was even on Players. But obviously Minshew in first year being a 6th round Draft pick looked far, far better at QB over Darnold. All because of being so scared. Darnold last year hasnt played well . Maybe 2 games Darnold has done ok from last year and this season. Jets needs to Draft a QB in first round to motivate Darnold and give Darnold next season to make it and if not, we have the next QB on team with Darnold at back up.

I think everyone would take Rex back - other than the Tebow year and when Idzik took over and destroyed the secondary and the oline - Rex always put out a competitive team. Yes we had some blowouts - but Jets were always competitive even when he had shitty talent.

He is the most successful Jet coach in history and the only head coach to win road games in the playoffs back to back to make it to the championship game. He did it with Sanchez too lol. I agree with Joe B. If Rex/T were given a year or two to figure out things after the stupid Tebow trade - I think they would of gotten us back to the Playoffs. But once T was booted and Idzik came in it was death for Ryan

Rex had buy-in - players believed in him and played hard....Bowles/Gase do not have that.

It’s not about Rex teaching Darnold anything, we all know Rex was strictly a defense guy. It’s just about imagining what Darnold could have done with the team Sanchez had his first three years. I believe the offensive coaches we had back then would have helped Darnold. He’s getting no help now. Overall, Rex knew how to motivate and prepare his team. He was a horrible disciplinarian and let his teams run wild but they would run through a brick wall for him on the field. These players seem like they could give a shit with Gase. Yes our talent may not be up to par but there isn’t any effort either.

They played hard for him at first. Then they got lazy because he didn't hold them accountable to anything.

They might show up on Sundays, but they weren't showing up Tuesdays through Saturdays.

I love Rex. I would have liked to see him with an offensive coordinator equivalent of Rex. he loved NY . he would have stayed forever. and he would have figured things out if given time. we have wasted the time since him. it might as well have been with him

Just like the team quit on Gase in Miami. Then he quit on the team and their owner. Gase should never have been hired as our HC.

The one thing I will give him is he flat out speaks the truth! He is raw and unfiltered but the man is exaggerating or telling lies, he is just ACCURATELY calling it like he sees it

big problem with Rex was he took over somebody else's talent who knew how to draft (Mangini). Rex added nothing and as that talent fell off the roster so too did his W-L record. Rex is a one trick pony who would be asked to take over an already bad roster and he wouldn't do much to improve it. He should be a DC somewhere.
