Rodgers future will determine the franchise future. No good coach will come to the Jets with Rodgers on the Roster.
Rex would not return if Rodgers is still here.
He will hold the Jets hostage with his decision to retire or return.
The roster is going to be a complete mess. O line will need a minimum of 3 replacements.
WR will need to be rebuilt. Adams won't be back with his $36 million due next season, Williams is already gone. Williams and who?
I expect JD gets a 2 year extension, Ulbrich will be named HC, and we keep the playoff drought alive....

In my time playing and coaching, it's the opposite. The scheme should fit the personnel. That means it doesn't make sense to hire Rex if he wouldn't be able to run his defense.
Good coaches base their scheme around their talent. Over time, in college or the pros, they may start recruiting or drafting players to fit the scheme.
Our current players do not fit the scheme were running on the D. We need DEs, can simply go with OLBs but good teams aren't locked into a 3-4 or 4-3 defense. They have gotten more sophisticated.
Also we added players to run a Gap scheme on offense and are running more ZBS than last year. Coaches have to adapt in today's NFL. Ours don't.
If Rex isn’t coach next season, I’m not happy and will be continuing my complete and utter hatred of the Jets
If Rex IS the head coach you won't be happy, trust me. Some people are never happy. The secret of happiness is to accept that you follow the Jets soap opera for 17 games and then watch the real teams in the playoffs.
