I thought he made a good accounting of what we can expect and showed that he's smart enough to not answer some of those questions that it's just to early to answer. It sounds, to me at least, that he actually does have people skills which clearly Gase did not have. To top it off, not once during the presentation did his eyes get away from him and put on a show of their own. I see no way that he isn't better than Gase right from the get go.
