Rookies - What We've Seen, What To Expect

It's the time of year that every team and their fan base is dreaming of the best rookie class ever. I'm pretty positive about this year's group. From the limited information I've seen this group could be pretty, pretty good.

Jamal Adams - the real deal. He has the potential to be the glue that holds this defense together. And it could be a very good defense. Best case scenario is he becomes the Jets Lawrence Taylor.

Marcus Maye - could be Robin to Adams' Batman. A leader. I really think the second round curse could finally be over. Coincidence that it happens the year David Harris leaves the team? Hmmm.

Adarius Stewart - if I'm a coach in the SEC I'm going to tell any recruit that if they go to 'Bama, they're not going to be healthy enough to have a long career in the NFL. I'm getting a bad feeling here.

Chad Hensen - could be a good 4th round get. Hoping for a solid contribution by season's end.

Jordan Leggett - TE is tough position for NFL rooks. Hoping the light bulb goes on by the bye.

Dylan Donohue - the real rookie sleeper here? Got to love his motor and attitude. Whether or not that means anything on the field remains to be seen but for a 5th rounder, it's worth the shot.

Eli McGuire - looks like a player with a good skill set. Hoping he's not another Terrance Gannaway. Remember a lot of posters were saying he was going to take the spot of underperforming Bilal Powell. That didn't happen.

Jeremy Clark/Derrick Jones - they both look the part. And they will be given a chance. Here's hoping.

The most important thing is that these guys get a chance to show their stuff. The success of this class and the stepping up of Jenkins, Shell, Burris and Mauldin will determine if Mac comes back.

I'm at a loss to truly understand this"bad feeling" you're getting from Stewart? I know this guy saw a lot of action at Alabama. I know he's still a little beat up from his collegiate career. But a few bumps and bruises does not another Dee Milliner make? So I'm really at a loss to understand what you're basing your feelings regarding Stewart. Is there something I am missing here?

Can't we just trust that even the Jets can have a great draft once in a while?

MJ...I think I'm being very positive about this year's draft, unless the criteria is to think you're going to hit a home run with every pick. Aside from that, I'm very bullish on this year's crop. As for Stewart, I always get a bad feeling about drafting 'Bama guys. They just always seem to be injured and it always seems to come out after the draft. I think I also have Devin Smith in the back of my head. Another receiver who couldn't participate in early activities albeit for different reasons (at first).

Hey, I hope they guy shines. But first I hope he gets on the field. If Adams, Maye, Hansen, Donohue and McGuire hit it will be a great draft. Throw Stewart in there and it could be foundational.

Foundational is exactly what I think this Draft is? It's weird, but I've never had a single doubt about this group of players. Last years draft I have been all over. I think the 2016 draft sucks and just about every player selected. But this year I think will go down as the first great draft the Jets have had since 2006.
