Martin, who was undrafted out of Duke, spent last Summer with the Jets and turned some heads in camp with his leg strength. He can routinely hit from north of 50 yards. However, he didn’t do enough to unseat Nick Folk, struggling in the preseason.
With Folk now a member of the Buccaneers, and Martin a year older, he seems poised to grab the job.
This competition will likely not be concluded until the end of the preseason but Martin has the early edge of Catanzaro.
