Per position breakdown we have a lot of holes to fill:
QB this year we may need to draft someone, outside of Aaron Rodgers we can not bank he will stay healthy and he isn't likely to stick around for more than two more years. Does not mean we need to draft someone in the first round.
Running back we are technically set, even after we do not re-sign Dalvin Cook. We can draft someone on day three or sign a rookie free agent to join Breece and Izzy.
Fullback I think Bawden is a good one, but in reality we have a tight end in Ruckert who can double down as the lead blocking back.
At wide receiver outside Garrett Wilson we have no one but project players in Xavier Gipson, Jason Brownlee. After this season they will have to the new league year to dump Lazard's contract with minimal dead loss moving forward. POTENTIAL OUT: 2025, 2 YR, $22,000,000; $6,552,000 DEAD CAP, sorry but buyer beware and JD screwed the pooch on this one.
Conklin is a decent No. 2, CJ Uzomah is out to pasture and Jeremy Ruckert has potential but not a No. 1. There are a handful of tight ends in this upcoming draft that we can go get.
Offensive Line is not as bad as we think, Mekhi Becton should be re-signed his health is the only issue. Max Mitchell is a decent swing tackle and AVT should come back to be the starting right tackle. Tippman is the now/future center. We have issues at guard both guard spots. Carter Warren has the ability that would be ideal to kick inside especially on the left side. Warren is a pure pass blocker and is what we need on the inside, so in reality this year we need to find that starter on the right guard role. With Max that makes the 6th man, need to draft a starting guard and find a solid swing guard. Believe Wes is under contract for next season, he is a better backup for the center job that can step in as guard/limited role.
If we can not re-sign Bryce Huff it will be a huge loss, but we have good rotation with two full time starters in JJ and McDonald. They will be able to find some affordable role players while they might be able to draft day three options to develop, probably the only position this team can develop properly. Quinnen, JFM, WInfrey and Solomon Thomas is good inside core to build with.
This is curious to me after Mosley and Quincy there is no depth after these two. Sherwood is decent role player and Barnes has yet to make a mark yet. This will be a position of focus this upcoming off season. Wouldn't be surprised if they get cute and move Jordan Whitehead into that S/LB role which would make more sense in the style of defense we run. Whitehead/Mosley/Williams could be a dominate trio moving forward.
Outside Tony Adams we have no future at the safety position. None outside Whitehead should be re-signed. If they were smart they would re-sign Bryce Hall and move him to safety but said if they were smart.
Sauce... DJ Reed? Mike Carter II... Good core but where is the depth. Converse is a rookie with potential. Echols next year is contract year and he shows flashes. Like I said Bryce Hall would be better suited to move to safety which then he can double down as outside corner if we need due to injury.
I expect both senior citizen kickers to be back for another year.
Hennessey long snapper is not going anywhere.
But who will be our gunners? Irvin Charles, Justin Hardee, Javelin Guidry?
This team has too many questions... I can not even fathom the headache this front office will have to contend this year after we go the rest of the season without a win, buckle up butercups this season is officially over, 4 snaps into the season we were dead from week one, now what?
