Roster Cuts to 75

I don't know how this is going to play out, but I know one thing: Jace Amaro isn't going anywhere. He was a second round draft pick, and played reasonably well with sub par QB play last season. Anyone who wants to tell me that players like Walt Powell, Quincy Enunwa, Shaq Evans, or any other player in danger of being cut is a better decision over Amaro...well....

:i-dont-know-smiley-

I can see Enunwa making it ahead of a 3rd TE like Davis or Saxton, based on the way they are using him in the preseason. Don't think there is any way he takes Amaro's roster spot.

Logic would indicate that Amaro would be on the team, but since Bowles has been here a lot of illogical things have been going on with Amaro.

From day 1 in the OTA's Amaro was working on the #2 field with the scrubs. In mini camp he was getting his reps with the 2's and 3's. Bowles has been very dismissive in replying to inquires about Amaro's injury. Not exactly the way you would expect a HC to interact with his #1 TE. It's not like Cumberland is a great TE. Coming into the season a lot of people were saying this was the end of Cumberland. Amaro was going to take his #1 spot. Hasn't gone that way at all.

I agree that on talent alone Amaro should make the roster. But certainly not going to say It's the one thing I'm sure about. Any body who doesn't notice that there is a very weird interaction between Amaro and Bowles..................Well, I don't know

How about we keep Enunwa instead of one of the TEs - he lined up as H-back quite a bit last night. This could open a roster spot for another wr. I would love to have a weapon like Powell in the return game.

I think the odds of Enunwa making the team are close to 100%. He is doing well and has had a lot of first team reps the last two games.

BYW, the 75 person cut is completely DUMB. Just NFL bean counters telling owners they can save a few million dollars collectively by cutting 15 people early when it makes the scenario of having to play a starter or key backup in the 4th game very likely and risking injury. DUMB

There is not really a receiving TE role in the offense, and historic receiving yards for TEs are low in Gailey's system. I could definitely see Amaro not being on the team as Enunwa is doing really well in the HB role as is Bohannon. Amaro would have trade value so i would not be shocked to see him traded, along with a CB for future draft consideration.

Not totally dumb....right now all teams are practicing w the starters and gameplanning for week one. No sense wasting time giving guys reps that have no shot making team. The stuff is Real ffrom on this moment forward
