As y'all know, I am not a fan of the continual tinkering of the Rules Committee. From 'across the Pond' I'm not sure about the ramifications of some recent changes, so.....
1. They said that in overtime both sides had to have a possession unless a TD was scored, but then they reduced OT to 10 minutes. It is perfectly possible for a drive to take all or most of ten minutes. So if a team kicks a FG with no time on the clock in the first possession, does the other side get a play or is the game over?
2. It used to be 'roughing the passer', whoever the passer was, but now they've added specific things that you can't do to the 'quarterback'. So who is the 'quarterback' in terms of getting the protection? Is he the guy who takes the initial snap or the guy with the biggest name? Considering the Jets for example, they could line up with Bilal Powell in wildcat, or they could line up with both Darnold and Fales in the backfield. Or they could even start off with 6 offensive linemen and have Winters step backwards to take the snap.
