The one part with which I would disagree is that we need someone who is ready to play now at #6. Picking that high, we should be looking at the guy who will have the best career.

If the team was built to compete in 2017, then by all means take the guy ready to play now. But with a longer build, I'd rather get the guy with the higher upside.

I could get on board with this line of thinking

We just finished 5-11 with two players that did nothing to help the Jets win games in 2016 and you disagree with needing a first day contributor? I think you're missing the point here. If you get a guy that plays well day one, odds are hell contribute for a long time to come. That's what the Jets need, not some guy that might contribute 2 or 3 years down the road.

But if that is our plan to build for the future like the Cubs did He might be the right pick.....Lets not rush it again

I have heard a lot of good things about him, but also he is raw. Picking at #6 you want an impact player. If he can play RT and slide over to LT in a year. Whats the problem? We are not going to the Superbowl next year, we are rebuilding. If he has a good combine and Mac feels he is the best pick on the board, I have no problem.

And you're missing my point. I don't think the Jets need someone for 2017. I think they need someone who has a high ceiling for the future.

Yes, in many cases, a player destined for greatness will be great from Day One. But that doesn't always happen. And I'd rather draft someone with the highest ceiling than someone who can come in Day One.

Ramczyk has the biggest upside, if we draft him we don't need to throw him into the fire right away... Yeah you draft someone that early he is expected to play right away that is hogwash to me... Every player needs time to adjust to this level so if he needs time so be it not like we are going from the bottom of the pile express right to the top of the heap...

Have a bridge player, whomever it is Ijalana (re-sign 1 year), bring in FA or try to rework a new 1 year deal with Clady... The starter would take the brunt of the snaps while working in the rookie until he gets enough body of work that he is comfortable taking over the workload...

This should be for any rookie that is drafted...
