Saleh has done a great job overall handling this team and all it’s adversity! Injuries and consistent QB play killed this team. If MW played from game one and could of stayed healthy, it’s pretty reasonable to think that this team would be a 10-11 win team right now and on its way to 1-2 more wins before the playoffs.
Maybe they didn’t want to start MW because they knew it was going to be a controversy if they did. Or maybe they honestly thought Zach was ready, prior to his preseason injury! I don’t know but they still have a chance to make it in the playoffs with this young team from where they were last year. That’s amazing enough!
Agree. He should spend the off-season learning and come back to camp next year and see if there is improvement. Keep a short leash, but too early to completely give up. Look at Geno this year.
Geno is 10 years later LOL. I chalk that up to Pete Carroll being a heckuva coach who find a way to best use the talent
How can he not be a lost cause at this point? He’s proven it in every way visible way possible! He can’t get the little and basic things straight and amazing abit he always wants to pull off, he’s not that good at that either.

Lost cause or not I don't think the Jets have a lot of options with him at this point. They can't afford to just cut him. If they waive him another team will pick him up and the Jets will wind up paying for him. And lastly, I can't imagine he has much trade value right now with all the negative publicity surrounding him. I believe they will just keep working with him in the background in hopes that they can get him turned around.
As much as it will pain most of us, unless JD can fleece another team ZW will be on this team next year.
As long as they can do it while MW is hopefully leading this team to the playoffs! I’m sure it’s not but is it possible for them to just put him on the practice squad?

I'm pretty sure they would have to wave him first and hope he didn't get claimed by another team. That's where we wind up paying him to play for someone else. I could be wrong about this but I don't think I am.
A lot will be told on Saleh and the CS in the next 2 games. If we win in SEA, we will beat Miami . If we lay down in SEA, like we did against JAX, this will tell me the team quit on him . If they quit, then its time to overhaul the whole thing AGAIN. It’s my guess that Saleh will rally the team for both the wins. My feeling is that the D, who chunked it against DET, and the rest of the team, does not like playing with Zach due to the lack of confidence. Imagine the guys on D, who give up a TD at some point, realizing we just lost because Zach cant get us in the end zone. Motivation is toast …..
This is what I was trying to tell a poster who left blaming the defense and not getting a “civil”discussion from me when he was anything but .
It’s all related. This defense has over excelled in my eyes and are not the blame for a loss or 2 because they gave up a late TD

Saleh should remain HC regardless how this year turns out. He has shown progress in a progress based year. This should be more about the big picture and not about a playoff birth, and he has stated this many times. Saleh is pretty transparent (too much in my opinion) with the media. He remains in teacher mode and motivator. That's why I support him and his decisions.
The offense or lack of it is what's holding back this team. A lot of blame has been on the QB's, and rightly so. But the development of the QB's falls directly on MLF and Calabrese. Here's the issue. MLF is the younger brother of Saleh's best friend Matt. If Saleh truly believes in doing what's best for the Jets, he will at least bring in a seasoned veteran offensive playcalling coach specializing in developing QB's. Give him whatever title he sees fit. Honestly, I don't believe that MLF is going anywhere yet.

Teams score, it really is that simple. Blaming the defense for not shutting a team out is just unrealistic. No matter how well they play, you still gotta expect the other team to score here/there. If we can't give the defense support by scoring our own damn points, it will always be a losing situation!
I hear ya...... Against JAX, after we recovered the fumble, I knew we werent scoring a TD after the first play when Zach dirted it. Then he stupidly gets sacked on a play when everyone in the stadium saw the guy coming. He didnt even disguise it well. Zach just never looked that way pre snap. Totally obilivous.... Told my wife we arent scoring a TD with this guy at QB today..... And when they scored a TD to go up 10-3, told her we just lost.....
