Becton’s tweet was brought to Robert Saleh’s attention just before he spoke with reporters on Monday. New York’s rookie head coach said he did not think Becton’s words were “malicious” and went on to compliment Mims after his best game of the season.

“He is earning his reps,” Saleh said. “As he continues to do so, he’ll get more opportunities.”

That has long been the company line regarding Mims’ questionable usage. The Jets have been unable to generate any sort of spark on offense so far this season, averaging just 13.5 points per game. Mims has been one of the few players to add a jolt to LaFleur’s unit, but he has yet to be rewarded for his efforts with an uptick in playing time.

Becton is not the first person to call for more Mims. He likely won’t be the last if LaFleur keeps him shunned from his offense. Mims’ time might be coming after the bye week, but it’s tough to say for sure with the way the Jets’ new coaching staff has handled him.

If they let Mims go, he will be All-Pro somewhere else!
That's the Jet way.
that's not what he meant
he said that during the game
after Mims caught that 27 yard first down catch...

Tons of questions surrounding why the CS refuses to use him! Right now LF is just looking like an idiot! He won't play him, and every time he does the guy makes a big play!

no that is the fan perception speaking...

in reality he has been progressing in practice that is why his snap count went up...
but because the playbook for the London game was limited some plays that would have either/both Elijah Moore/Denzel Mims were not available... they tried to dial it back some to try to build momentum to stack positive plays but for whatever reason GVR couldn't get out of the way...

Watched the game again, I noticed this one run play to the left was ran 14 times the entire game... Tevin Coleman was the only one to gain yardage from that play call, twice...

The CS have a plan with all these young guys to learn their job, Mims played both offense and special teams and from his performance his efficiency on his targets albeit 66.6% ( 2 catches on 3 targets) proves he is on the right path...

I believe the next three games not only will he see more reps/snaps on offense but become pivotal to some scoring drives...
