Sam Darnold has something to work with, but...

as long as Adam Gase is in the fold, Darnold will never be able to take that next step in his development... He is only 23 years of age, giving him time to be taught how to be better... Yes in college he was a turnover machine and all he has done here is turn the ball over, but we have witnessed good from him... Need to find that coach to harness that good in Sam and make it the foundation to build upon...

Two things about Sam Darnold that intrigues me:

  1. His thick skin, being in the New York media market would destroy the confidence of a young player like Sam, but Darnold seems to relish it and strive to be better...
  2. Eagerness to learn and correct his mistakes, but this is also a coaching need as well which we don't have the right people in place to help him...
the current roster has potential, the only way for the team to develop and help Sam grow is for someone to accentuate the abilities of said players currently on the roster... Yes Robby Anderson is not only flourishing in Carolina but he improved here over his first four seasons as a receiver... Do we have his replacement, maybe in Jeff Smith didn't expect that did you... Smith showcased against Denver the ability to dissect defensive short to medium crossing routes with great success... So instead of utilizing those plays, Gase decided to move on this week from that and go another route which seemed to be less productive...

Is Jeff Smith a number one, no but he could be a future slot guy that could catch n run in many formations for Sam and this offense... Another player we have yet to see this season due to a surgery is Vyncint Smith who does have the top end speed to take the top off defenses... Will he be back this season, no one knows but the doctors and possibly Joe Douglas...

Jamison Crowder is a hot commodity even though he plays on our team, if we are going to shop any player he should be a top of the list... Douglas should easily be able to get a 3rd round pick for his services... No one wants to be the center of trade talks but for an organization that is in second year of a massive rebuild we need to stock pile as many picks as possible...

Even the commentators belittled Berrios as if he could become a starting receiver but when given the chance he showed he can contribute... No one is given that opportunity, they earn it... Look at our current opted receiver formerly a first round pick Josh Doctson... Given the opportunity and he failed miserably, but thus the two games Berrios started he flourished, so as I state no one is guaranteed anything in this league but finding components that work within a system or with a quarterback helps bother the qb and receiver develop...

Our tight end position is a total mess, Herndon needs a drink because he is lost... Griffin is out there to run around and get paid for nothing... Brown is a special teams guy and our best tight end is our blocking end who was able to catch the pass thrown to him, unfortunately he is no running back and should of never been handed the ball on that crucial down...

Coaching is imperative... Practice is to walk through plays to be called in a game... Practice is not to install your game plan it is to build that chemistry and trust factor so all the players are on the same page... Practice for a QB is repetition to figure out timing with his receivers... Practice for a receiver is to understand what he is facing man or zone coverage and be able to run his route accordingly... But for Gase the practice is for him to be delusional and believe the script he is building can not be beat, then reality sets in when game day arrives...

It is not just Adam Gase but Gase doesn't have a guy keeping him level headed... Being head coach is one thing but have a O.C. that challenges you to do this rather than that helps from doing the same shit over and over again when it clearly fails... Gase has a puppet in Loggains who is scared to speak his mind if he has one...

Gase & the jets don't have an OL but with bell being a so called good REC why is he not catching passes out of the backfield...like 5 or more per game.

As I said the other day the D man is 23 & yes he does seem to handle NY well. So yes he has a chance but there is a lot that must get better.

Bell was open in the flat a few times and Flacco never looked his way, one was on Flacco's run up the middle... The design is not to look at your progressions in this game plan... There are two maybe three options as long as they are on the same side of the field so the QB can see what Gase wants him to throw it...

I think there is potential in Jeff Smith, Braxton Berrios, Vyncint Smith... Hoping to see Denzel Mims some time soon to see if he can be a difference... We have no tight ends... We have one sure bet on the OL in Becton, hoping also to see Cameron Clark get to play soon so we know if we have 2 pieces on the OL to continue the rebuild...

Josh Adams, La'Mical Perine are two pieces to work with moving forward out of the backfield, the question is what about Ty Johnson...

a smart regime would look to add some game changer style players that are well rounded players...

this upcoming off season, a player like Tarik Cohen would be a good signing, take a flier on after this season where he is on IR... a younger more athletic Bilal Powell that could be used in multiple ways...

maybe getting lucky and trying to sign a player like Zay Jones to add to this receiver group would give us a big plus moving forward...

OL needs to be drafted no more giving money to these vested veterans, they have been pathetic this season so far... Prospects like Trey Smith (Tennessee), Walker Little (Wisconsin) and Alec Lindstrom (BC) would finalize our line for years to come...

Trey Smith could be compared to Mekhi Becton but plays guard...
Walker Little albeit a left tackle would give us a true run blocker at the right tackle position that can be the backup at left tackle if need be...
Alec Lindstrom needs to gain bulk at 290 isn't small for a center but could be the future...

Suring up the OL, getting lucky and signing a couple of one/two year rentals in players like Cohen at RB, and Zay at WR would help develop Sam but it all depends on the coaches hired... Need a Head Coach, but we need a QB Coach to work on the fundamentals of Sam... Then need a offensive coordinator to build the play book and understands how a game flows to call the plays that will put the offense in the right position to be successful, and until this happens we will continue to suffer watching a team that practices well against air and comes out flat against real competition... And the head coach is confused why they can not translate the success in practice to game day...
