Below is an espn story on mark Sanchez being a leader in Denver.
Pretty funny how the Jets were a joke for starting him, and when the super bowl Champs trade for him you don't hear a peep. No ny media jeers?

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- The first rule of leadership is you can’t tell people you are a leader, you just have to be one. Then they notice.

At least that’s the way quarterback Mark Sanchez sees it.

Sanchez is a relatively new arrival to the Denver Broncos since the team acquired him in a March trade with the Philadelphia Eagles. As he tries to acclimated to new coaches, a new city and new teammates, he knows people are watching.

“A lot of times it’s just how you do it," Sanchez said. “... Are you prepared for meetings? Are you asking questions just to ask or do you really have a question because you studied the night before? When you get to this level, guys can tell, they can smell it. You can’t fake it, they know, it’s like old food if you’re faking it. You can’t fake it, you’ve got to love it."

Some coaches in the league have said quarterback is not just a job, it’s a lifestyle. Arrive early, stay late, be the most prepared what’s to come.

When Peyton Manning announced his retirement, he didn’t mention touchdown totals or a pile of NFL records, but he did say, with all of the passion he could muster in his voice, no one could “outprepare" him.

“It’s true, you sacrifice a lot of your time," Sanchez said. “But it’s in order to set the right example. It’s not always being vocal, it’s not always going out of your way to say something to somebody. My dad said something similar. When you’re the starting quarterback, when somebody calls you the starting quarterback, it’s like a boxer winning a title, now people call you 'Champ.' You’re different and people expect you to carry yourself differently in the job. You have to carry yourself appropriately on and off the field."

That’s where Sanchez is as the Broncos move through their offseason program -- trying to show his teammates he’s ready, willing and able to be the team’s starter. Coach Gary Kubiak has said numerous times “we’re not handing anybody anything, there’s going to be competition in this."

Sanchez is well-positioned because of his experience. He has six career playoff starts and is familiar with many of the concepts in the Broncos’ offense. He also has a chance to kick-start his career and regain a starter’s job, something he hasn't done since the 2012 season.

Sanchez also understands the locker room he walks into every day. The Broncos are a Super Bowl winner, with a way of doing things in place.

“It’s pretty impressive the way they just kind of police it on their own," Sanchez said. “It’s a good veteran team. It reminds me a lot of those first couple of years in New York where coach [Rex Ryan] didn’t really have to say much. Coach Kubiak, we’ve had a few team meetings and stuff, but there is not like a, 'don’t forget to be on time, lace your shoes this way and do this or do that.' There is not a lot of dialogue that way. It’s pretty quick, big-picture stuff. Everybody really knows what to do, so just fall in line and follow the guys around you. That’s encouraging."

Sanchez said he approaches his daily routine as if he can be the Broncos starter. He says he will help rookie Paxton Lynch and Trevor Siemian as much as he can until Kubiak officially names a starter in the weeks and months to come.

He wants to simply get down to the business of work because “I do love what I do and I want to be part of a team like this."

An effective Zone Blocking run first offense.
3 & out Defense that backs teams up with sacks & gets a lot of take-aways.

Two things needed for Sanchez to be a solid starter. I think he'll do well bc he has the type of team that doesn't force the QB to carry the team...he isn't that guy.

I've always been a Sanchez supporter, but he has his limitations. Having said that, this offense is one that can allow him to run it without forcing it, and he'll give them some good moments with play action too.

I really wish him luck in the second half of his career.

I agree with this... I also thing the Organization stunted his growth by signing the cancer Holmes over Edwards and letting Cotchery go, as well as sticking with Schotty..... But I hope he does well in Denver I think that team is built for a QB like Sanchez to thrive in. Ironically I think our current Jets team is one he would do well in... I think Gaileys offense suits a guy like Mark.

X10000 Once Holmes went down with the injury Sanchez was throwing to a bunch of Arena League WR's, yet he shouldered all of the blame for the Offenses demise.

Sounds like when Hack lost his skill players and coach. Fans like to blame the QB for everything.

I never understood why with mark being so clearly a game manager, they changed the team strategy and forced Sanchez to be a gunslinger.

IMO he looked good in year 2 and even won several games coming from behind with his arm. He was developing and showed potential, but then the FO decided to decimate the offense and make him the scapegoat.

They moved away from ground and pound and started building a down field offense, everything hinged on Sanchez thriving in that scenario. He didn't, and the idea made no sense, add if they had no clue what Sanchez was.

I think they had a great path for Sanchez to develop into a gunslinger and even in year 3 they brought in Tom Moore to be an Offense Consultant and that was a good move.... But they moved away from ground and pound too quickly, moved away from security blanket receivers to quickly. Year 3 should have been a slow transition off the offense to rely more on Sanchez and instead of growing into that role in year 3 and being that guy year 4 they forced it and it was all downhill from there.

Am i the only one that remembers all the pick 6's, three and outs, butt fumble for christ sake. Sanchez led the league in turnovers for two years straight.
Teams with good QB's do not bring in a Tebow or draft a Geno Smith. They do not go through multiple Offensive coordinators. Sanchez will have a good game here or there for the Broncos but those into's that turn into points for the opposition are going to end up being his demise. I think by week 9/10 Lynch is taking snaps for the Broncos.

I think your comment falls in line with what we are saying. His first 2 years he was highly controlled, then rex and tanny thought they could change the offense and Sanchez would adapt, I was pissed and never thought it would work, and every year we got worse and worse.

I think they had a great path too. The problem was they didn't understand Sanchez, he's not a gunslinger. You have to know your players and develop an offense the team can win with.

In mine too.
mine as well.. seemingly a decent young man that was the starting QB in two of my favorite jet seasons of my life..

what he was or wasn't or will never be as a QB has no bearing on that for me..

i wish him well in denver..

Rex and the crew may have destroyed Sanchez I will admit. He struggled year one but played well in the playoffs. Year two he played even better and well in the playoffs. Year three it all seemed to go down hill when they striped and dumped the team on him. What pissed me off so much with him was it just appeared he couldn't hold it together with that pressure and just fell apart from year three until they cut him. Sad situation because under better coaching with us, who knows what we would have had with him?

Holmes and Schotty would have killed anyone's career.

I have no problem with Sanchez, but I think this shows just how biased the media are. They are quick to call out LOLJets for having Sanchez, but praise the Broncos for having him. It's like draft picks. It doesn't matter who the Jets take, they get questioned, and it doesn't matter who the Patriots take, they get praised.

I know what you're saying. But it would probably happen less is the Jets' picks were a little more successful. That is especially so at the QB position. If Hack doesn't pan out, expect the Jets to be excoriated. And expect more criticisms in future drafts.
