[h=1]Would Jets trade down for him?[/h] [h=3]Projected Pick: End of 1st round/Beginning of 2nd[/h] [h=3]Stats[/h]
College (career): 71 tackles, 20 passes defended, 8 interceptions

Combine: 4.37 in 40-yard dash

Analysis:
Long, athletic corner who is more smooth and fluid than twitchy and sudden in his coverage. Williams has the instincts and tools to play a variety of coverage, but his length and pattern-matching talent will likely get him drafted to handle press-man duties. His ball production dropped a little from 2017 and he continued to struggle with finding the ball downfield, but he is rarely ever out of position. He needs to get stronger and more competitive in run support, but he has the talent and traits to become a No. 1 CB.

Needs Improvement:
  • Needs to add muscle and strength
  • Can be jostled by physical receivers
  • Release mirror is average
  • Lacks initial quickness to stick crossing routes from slot
  • Average early recovery burst
  • Needs to eliminate grabbing and clutching from trail
  • Consistent issues locating football when back is to the ball
  • Plays the hands instead of the football
  • Pass breakups due to length more than twitch
  • Not competitive enough getting off blocks
  • Below-average tackler with inconsistent strike and wrap technique

Too many things in that "Needs Improvement" list.
Sounds like too many of the DB flops they've drafted in the past.
Pass.
