Scumbag Manish at it again. This time Hack is the target

Speaking to the New York Daily News, a Jets source says second-round rookie Christian Hackenberg will "never make it."

"Never," the source emphasized. Hackenberg was a topic of discussion on Thursday after owner Woody Johnson called him a "prospect." Reporter Manish Mehta says he recently asked an anonymous Jets starter if Hackenberg was worth a second-round pick and received a curt "no" in reply. The fact that Hackenberg couldn't get on the field in a lost year where Ryan Fitzpatrick, Geno Smith and Bryce Petty were all either injured or ineffective — usually at the same time — says all there is to know about Hack's NFL future.

Just because Mehta is a rabble rousing, always negative, scumbag doesn't necessarily mean that this isn't true.

If Manish wrote it, it's a 95%-100% chance that its not true.... My sources tell me no one in the Jets organization speaks to Manish other than at the pressers when they have too....

King Shit Disturber is at it again.

Same ol' media hacks drawing conclusions based on whispers and conjecture. A+B must equal C.

Sorry guys, but I am inclined to believe him. Sure, Manish may be a scumbag, but I am looking at the bigger picture. It seems our GM is equally as bad as the HC.

If Jets get an old veteran for one year then Hack or Petty is what they feel is the answer. If they get Glennon on a multi year deal then they don't. I would rather have Glennon than any of the QB's coming out or the two on our roster.

I listened to Maccagnan on H&H the other day, and if he's telling the truth, this team is still a few years away. He said the draft is definitely the focus of the building of this team. If that's the case, you avoid higher profile FA's this year (especially older ones) and keep on drafting. He specifically mentioned Burris, Shell, Lee, and Jenkins as players he's really high on. I agree with you that signing Glennon would not look good for Hack and Petty. He's still a younger QB and would obviously be brought here to start.

But I don't think the Jets go that route. I think they'll bring in a lower profile veteran just as insurance in case both Petty and Hack fail.

If i'am Hackenberg, I'am loving this:

A) Heading into this off season with an enormous chip on my shoulder

B)Wil have the new OC on speed dial and will nag him every day and set up work outs along side all the young WRs to build their trust.

C)Harness as much negativity since entering into this league and keep a low profile (unlike the Geno Route) and demonstrate by actions my development.

D)Beat all the competition starting in the OTA's

E)Be more vocal in the QB meetings.

Just my opinion, reports as such can mature a young driven 21 year old very fast or destroy him. I feel he'll take the bull by the horns. Too much potential and i feel he has it between the ears.

Manish is a bush-league writer who is just posted pure crap for click bait.

He lost all credibility years ago and I'm just shocked that he is actually still employed with the Dailynews.

I am just waiting for some one to punch him right in the gut.

I'd actually abstain from talking to the press unless he leaves the room.

He's a young Jets QB. Of course there are articles about how he'll be a bust. The only people who hate the Jets more than the national media are the New York media.

I've come to believe that scribes like Mehta and Cimini enjoy clowning the Jets, partially to get a rise out of the fans. Sometimes they make fair critical assessments of the team, but most of the time it's just pot stirring speculation based on nothing resembling reality.

To be fair, the Jets haven't ever really proved them wrong with their QB choices.

I believe a big part of the problem with the Jets has been not having the patience or the right coaches to develop young QB's. The Jets need a great QB coach and an above average OC on this team more than anything right now.

Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg's careers are depending on it. I believe both guys can be starting QB's in this league with the right program.

Cimini has gotten much better since joining ESPN. In my opinion I think it's the daily news who forced their writers to be douches. I remember liking Mehta when he was at a smaller publication. I think it was metro

I recall Mehta being quite good actually. The Daily News gig has turned him into a headline whore.
