It depends on what is actually going on with Wilkerson. I'm surprised where this Wilkerson situation has arrived at.

This is just my opinion, but I think the Wilkerson situation was actually decided last year that he would be tagged and traded.

Last year was the time to sign Wilkerson. The Jets had cap money pouring out of their wazool. Paid a lot of people big money. No money for MO.

Here's my take on what went on. The Jets had X amount of money set aside for Wilkerson, which they thought was fair, and fit within their budget. Offered it to him. He declined, the Jets moved on. I think that's what we are going to see from this regime. With the notable exception of Revis IMO when theirFA's are do, make them an offer, if they want more, it's next man up.

Snacks may be in the same category. If it falls like that with both Snacks and Wilkerson leaving, it will leave a little bit of cap space.

As I mentioned in another thread I might start looking for a LT at that point.

I have no idea how the free agency plan is going to end up, but I'm pretty certain that Wilkerson and Snacks won't both be going somewhere else. The sign and trade of Wilkerson is possible, but the Jets would be stupid to let both Mo and Harrison go. I'm in favor of trading Sheldon Richardson, but as has been pointed out, the market value wouldn't be great right now. As bad as it would hurt to lose Wilkerson, I'd be OK if we got great return for him in a trade (draft picks), and we re-sign Snacks to a huge deal. Our d-line would still be very good with Richardson, Snacks, Big Cat, and the depth behind them.

I'm still predicting that the Jets will eventually move on from Sheldon, and probably let Ivory go next month. The running back position isn't what it used to be. A 28 year old hammer doesn't have a long shelf life. We've got Zac Stacy and Bilal Powell coming back, and who knows, either Stephen Ridley could get another shot, or the Jets could take Elliot at #20 if he drops. Might be BPA.
