Sheldon avoids jail time

The whole "cop smelling pot" is the oldest trick in the book used by cops to try to justify an illegal search and seizure.

I had a cop come to my house as a teenager and enter after being denied permission on the grounds that he " smelled pot". Which was complete BS. Sure we were all drinking underage and completely tanked, but none of the dozen or so friends I had over were smoking anything.

Since we keep repeating all these red herring charges and convicting him of them I think we should stick to some facts

There were NO charges regarding pot or any other substances. The car was thoroughly searched by forensic specialists and NO illegal drugs found in the car or on the occupants

There were no GUN related charges filed by the police or anyone

Yes, he is guilty of driving too fast and trying to evade arrest and for being young and stupid

He deserves a suspension

But you would think from some of theae posts from the JFU hangmen that he was OJ Simpson caught with a bloody knife in his hand or Aaron Hernandez and his serial homocides

If Shelly had missed one turn, or if somebody's family had backed out of a drive way in his path, while he was only doing 120 MPH over the speed limit with a child in the car, they would all be just as dead as Mrs Simpson. Maybe your on to something here

If If If

If my aunt had testicles she would be my uncle

Meanwhile in the real world

Stuoidly speeding, trying stupidly to escape, no drugs no guns

2 years probation and the whole episode is expunged.

I wish I was one of the avengers and hangmen here who never did anything stupid when young

Just wondering.

Do you hope one of your family members in in his path the next time he does a young silly thing?

Or will you become one of the hang men? It's still manslaughter even with out a gun. Or in this case child slaughter.

The one he was attempting to slaughter by doing 143 MPH on city streets.

No one died....................................This time. More then likely some will will next time.

No one except you is saying hang him.............................This time.

I am saying for doing the irresponsible, Life threatening things he did to a child . I sure wouldn't have had a problem with him getting 3-6 months in jail.

The judge didnt agree with you so I guess youll have to live with probation and the conviction expunged after probation is completed

And whatever number of games the NFL decrees for bad conduct and driving

Now Im getting back to the upcoming offseason and football discussion.

It's unlikely that we have all the facts. He was a douche for what he did. He should have gotten some kind of punishment, but he didn't. What does that mean? I don't have the foggiest. He should get penalized by the league for endangering a minor. Hopefully it will get his life on track

No matter which way you look at it, the reality is that if everyone who did something stupid that could have put a life in danger if a certain set of circumstances existed was jailed for 6 months, we'd have to turn a continent (and not one of the smaller ones) into a penitentiary.

I'm with you though, in saying he got lucky, and I hope he realizes and learns from it (as many of us do).

I can almost guarantee you if he wasn't Sheldon Richardson from Ferguson Mo. He would be in jail right now.

What about Richardson makes you think he's going to get it any time in the near future? Alright he failed his first pot bust. I guess shyt happens. I don't know how thought any one fails an NFL pot test. They know months in advance when the test will be. LOL how does that happen? Now they have random tests. He fails three more in the next year and a half.

The day before the 143 MPH chase through the streets breaks, he tells media thy will never see his name in a negative frame again.

While the Ferguson riots are going on he refers to the cops as Pigs. While Wilkerson hasn't said anything about his contract to stir anything in the locker room, Richardson is shooting his mouth off about Wilkerson's contract.

Where do you see this kid has learned anything at all? This whole relationship with the Jets is going to end badly. If his life continues on the trajectory it's on right now, it will probably end badly to.

It's a shame, the guys ridiculously talented, and I'm willing to bet he won't be with the Jets after his first contract. If he's still in the league. If the 22 year old kid up the street, who's got a nasty car, came up my street at a 143 MPH i'd want his ass in jail. I like the kid

Is it possible to try and stick to what actually happened and the actual punishment by the court without the projections, wouldas, couldas, shouldas, next times etc so we might be able to move on?

He was convicted and sentenced to 2 years probation and community service with the entire incident and conviction expunged on successful completion of his probation

He will no doubt get a suspension of some length by the NFL

If he screws up again he will get worse. If not, he will continue his successful NFL career with the Jets or elsewhere

I'm for hoping he learned from this mistake, grew up and keeps his nose clean. I too, like the kid

richardson is a narcissistic man child who happens to be a freak of nature/half a fat boy who still hasn't reached his prime..

he should have done time for endangering multiple lives including a minor..

i would be stunned if he learned anything aside from folks seem to enjoy kissing his self entitled ass..

I guess we will just agree to disagree. You hate the kid for whatever reasons. I choose to think he will learn from it and be OK and am willing to give him another chance

He is also a very good defensive lineman and as we all know, such talent does not grow on trees and is not something to throw in the trash can especially when we have pissed away high first round DL picks on the likes of Coples, Robertson and Gholston and others who couldnt play a lick (Savage, Ham and I even remember Carl Barzalauskus)

if your referring to me, I didn't say i hate richardson.. i said he's a self entitled narcissist who put multiple lives at risk including a family member who happens to be a child..

that said, aside from being dramatically better at his job, he makes geno smith look misunderstood..

No one has said they hate Richardson, or he should be hung except the above poster. Some people think it would do him some good to have some accountability forced on him. Like maybe 90 days in jail.

Remember who your talking to about accountability.

Yep your right.

Tom Brady was innocent of touching those footballs. If the NFL had any class they would give the Pats back their 1st round pick

The two caaes are similar

The Pats are multiple serial offenders who deserved what they got
Richardson also deserved what he got too. Probation and community service.

I accept that justice hasv been done including the suspension he deserves and will get and think it is time to move on to free agency, the draft and the rest of the offseason

if richardson gets popped by the league for smoking weed (in the next 2 years) would that break his probation?? as in jail time..

if so, that might be enough motivation for him to not screw the jets over.. again..
