Sheldon Richardson played with heavy heart and dominates Ravens

He played his best game of the year -- a team-high eight tackles, including one sack and three tackles for loss. It was his first full sack of the season. Without Muhammad Wilkerson (ankle), who was inactive, the Jets played more 3-4 fronts than usual, allowing Richardson to play in a three-point stance instead of that linebacker nonsense.

He was in Joe Flacco's face throughout the day. Afterward, Richardson said he was inspired by his late uncle, who was murdered last Tuesday. "He guided me a little bit," he said. "I played with a heavy heart. He got us through this win, I know he did." Richardson didn't provide any details.

So moving forward it would be best served for Bowles & company to continue with Richardson only in a three-point stance. This means between Leonard Williams, Steve McClendon and Muhammad Wilkerson only two can join him in this 3-4 front. Likely McClendon as the nose tackle and with Mo Wilk as the other defensive end. The Big Cat can sub for all three positions while joining the big three in the nickel four man alignment.

Bowles refusal to go to a base 4-3 with the talent he has on the D-line is IMO the biggest indictment against Bowles as a coach, even bigger than his inexplicable handling of the QB situation. The D-line is By FAR the deepest and best unit on the team. A four man front is the mother of all no brainers, and has been going back to last year.

And Sheldon at OLB is quite possibly the dumbest personnel move I have ever seen in my life, and I've seen a lot of dumb ones.

and thats why they were dominate against the Ravens in a 3-4 front with Richardson at three-point stance... moving to a 4-3 mid season is not an experiment they should tinker with if they can continue to be stout against the run and disrupt the pass... Richardson should not play anything other that defensive tackle/end position...

Meanwhile, everyone talked up the linebacker corp like it had gotten so much faster and that would allow Sheldon to go to his natural position. This is the exact opposite of what everyone thought. I don't think it's a stretch to say "TODD BOWLES is killing this team in 2016"...
