I always like Joe Namath. Say it ain't so Joe!
Ham, I can't argue with Namath. I hope he's right.
All the posts I've written about Mayfield, hoping and praying that the Jets don't draft him. Now have gone up in smoke.
I wasn’t alive when Broadway Joe was doing his thing in SB III. I respect him as our best QB ever, but frankly, he’s said and done some stupid things in recent years. Getting wasted and making a fool of himself on the sideline with Suzy Kolber was the definition of awkward. And his player assessments are kind of crazy to me, too.
I don’t really care what he thinks.
I was too young to watch Superbowl III but as a kid I read a book about Namath and that's what made me a Jet fan. Like you I was embarrassed for him when he was drunk on Monday night football and it knocked him down a peg in my book. Then I watched a story about him on NFL network maybe? It talked about his struggles with drinking and family stuff and made me feel bad for him. Fame is hard to handle for many people. I cut him some slack after that
