There's no denying Fitz had a terrific season and earned the right to comeback as the starter.
THAT SAID, here's my concern, the knock on Fitz has ALWAYS been that he's a bad bad weather QB, doesn't have enough arm to deal with the elements in the northeast when the weather turns cold, thats what ended his tenure in Buffalo, and you saw some of that today when he barely completed over 40% of his passes.
What concerns me is that he was exceedingly fortunate with weather this year. The northeast broke warm weather records this year in December. In December to was like Spring and Fall, no snow, no winds, heck he never even played in a driving rainstorm this year, all the stars aligned to create the perfect conditions for Fitzpatrick, and UNTIL THIS SUNDAY he didn't play any bad weather games on the road this year either.
Chances are you will never see anything like that again. Next year he'll probably play at least a half-dozen bad weather games home and away, minimum, which is normal at the Meadowlands and in the AFCE. What happened this year was historically abnormal. At least a half dozen games in the types of conditions he encountered in Buffalo is far more likely next year. If you saw what the wind was doing with his passes in Buffalo, that is alarming.
