I agree but if you were his agent wouldn’t you advise him to wait and test the market
Nope...if you were an agent worth his salt, you'd advise your client to allow you to make overtures to the organization towards getting him re-signed
ASAP for $30 million for 3 years years with a $20 million signing bonus.
And that is
before the next time he steps on the field to lose feeling in his arm again or implodes, while the organization is still circle jerking themselves because of one historic game.
By doing so, you ensure the kid is set for life if he manages his money correctly, and if he does take the starting role, he re-ups at 28. Then he can sign a historic deal.
1.) but let's not forget...he had 1 historic game. all of the major numbers in his senior year AT WESTERN F'ING KENTUCKY were worse than his junior year (albeit, and TBF, not by much). TD's = down. YPA = down. Completion % = down. Interceptions = up.
2.) but let's not forget... he had one historic game. Everyone is hailing him as our Tom Brady, and our Tony Romo. Mike had a losing record at AT WESTERN F'ING KENTUCKY in his senior season . Brady went 20-5 at Michigan, and Romo went 25-10 at Eastern IL. TBF, they went 11-3 in his junior year, but if he is a man among boys at the college level in the WhoTheFuckAreYou Conference, he is winning games on his own, because he is "brady" and "romo".
3.) but let's not forget... he has one historic game. my bet is that we have more of an "Aikman-Walsh" situation on our hands than a "Shuler-Frerotte" situation. To keep things in perspective, here are more apropos headlines for him: The New York Jets Waived Him 5 Times Since 2019, The Dallas Cowboys Chose Cooper Rush Over Him, and There Was No QB Controversy In 2021 Camp.
to answer the question...hell no. Look at those 3 things and tell Mike to let his agent go to the Jets and git 'er done.
