Shout out to Maine, but I'll add one more

In my draft evaluation thread Maine astutely pointed out that Mac can't be blamed for failing to address the O-line in this draft (can in prior drafts, but not this one), because this was a horrible draft class for OL's. I took it a step further and called it the worst O-line class I have ever seen, EVER, and I follow the draft religiously, and I didn't just start following the draft this weekend. So when I say its the worst I have ever seen, thats covering a lot of drafts.

However, I would also add QB and thats why you can't kill Mac for not drafting a QB either. I don't know if this is the worst QB class I have ever seen, I've seen some bad ones before, but IMO this QB draft class sucked big giant elephant balls, so we're probably lucky Mac didn't waste any of our draft picks on a QB either.

So for those who are pissed that we didn't draft a QB or any OL's, please stop and take that into account, and you all know I'm no Mac/Jets apologist, who killed them more than me for taking another Safety in the second round? I was so pissed off that I literally asked them to commit suicide. lol

Yeah, I guess you're right. With all of the hub bub that I listened to leading up to the draft, a few things became very clear to me. 1) The OL talent just was not there. 2) The QB talent just was not there. 3) This was one of the most talented drafts otherwise. Actually, loaded with talent.

So Mac went where the talent was. He took BPA at every pick the way I see it and he simultaneously addressed a lot of needs. In the end, you can't really fault the guy for that? You know me, if I could read Mac the riot act I certainly would, but in this case all I can say is, "Good Job".

Now that doesn't necessarily mean the great draft will transfer to wins on the field? IMO, the OL is very suspect and it will cause this team to lose a LOT of games. I really think the Jets are probably a less than 5 win team? More like 2 or 3 wins? However, assuming what I say is true, the Jets will have positioned themselves to go big in FA (after this season the Jets will have about 60 to 70 million under the cap), and in the draft. OL and QB will be big next year.

Macc did the right thing in not taking an OL guy this year.... And as much as I would love to have a Kaaya or Petterman on the roster, it just isn't logical to do that this year with 2 young guys already there that need to show what they got before you add another unproven, developmental guy.
