station down the dial to 660 from 1050 (the old WHN and even older WMGM).
The FAN got better when they hired local talent not guys who wouldn't know a fire hydrant was called a Johnny Pump.

Lampley was that generation's Skip Bayless - a typical west coast punk trying to make a name for himself by irritating his listeners who aren't in L.A.
I was the second caller when the station went over to all-sports. I spoke to Greg Gumbal - Bryan's brother. I knew they came from Cleveland, so I told the guy answering that I wanted to talk about the Indian pitching staff. I got right on the air.
I was one of the few callers who didn't get insulted by Franklin. We talked about how Bill Mazeroski deserved to be in the Hall of Fame.
And I stumped Bill Mazur.
And Imus still owes me a Bobble Head doll.
