I understand the argument, but in this case, it's the last game of the year. If he got hurt, he'd have time to heal before resuming football activities. But being able to go into the offseason with at least an idea of live action could really help his development. There is no better way to learn than to play.

Playing time is certainly important, but if he's not progressed to the point that he's ready to see action, it hurts,not helps. Under pressure,all of your bad habits come out. The point of this red shirt year,is for hack to get a lot of reps with correct mechanics. I think Gailey said 1000 snaps to change habits. That way, he can start practicing with the correct mechanics next pre season.
I do get wanting to see what you have in him, but perhaps, the coaches already know where he's at. They see him every day.
Also, do you want hack getting guys hurt,if he isn't ready to see the field? He needs to audible,call blockers, shift players, and throw. He cab get linemen hurt,if we had any left, and you can kill awr on a bad throw.
