I'm pretty sure that a blind man could have "watch" Russell at LSU and told you he wasn't any good . They fell in love with the fact that he could throw the ball 100 yards and forgot about what he did on the field . knowing that, what conclusion could you arrive at when a professional evaluator makes a statement like that ?
I have Zero confidence of Jets making the right decision when it has anything to do with QB to better team. Jets since 1965 hasnt got the QB right. Namath the best. So will Jets do the right thing drafting Wilson? Jets History says NO. Either Jets will keep Darnold or Draft Fields which is normal awful decisions for Jets future. Douglas has done fine so far and Id like to think he will break Jets CURSE passing on great QBs in draft since Namath. If Douglas Drafts Zach Wilson he will be changing Jets cursed history drafting the wrong QB. I will be shocked if Wilson is Jets QB pick. Last time I thought for sure Jets was taking Josh Allen that Browns passed on. I was so excited my Jets had Allen right there until Jets took Darnold one of the iffiest turn over QBs in board. I dont expect Jets to take the right QB Wilson and just like 1984 draft we did with Darnold,we will do again this year taking the worse QB
This wasn't a knock on Kiper in so much as it was a knock on trying to get the QB pick right. Sooner or later we have to be the blind squirrel that finds the nut.
I saw Wilson Pro day and he looked good. I was for trading the #2 for additional high picks. There is always the unexpected that the Jags take Wilson at #1. I would wait till we are on the clock before we make a decision on a pick or trade.

tell me who could of done any better? Not mention where was the skill above average talent. No protection yet he still made something from nothing.
The Jets have had some decent HCs who have gotten little to no help from the GM who was running the team at the time . I hope that situation is a thing of the past now with this new regime . I have given up trying to figure out what the Jets will do come draft day because i don't have a clue what these coaches are looking for .
I do know that i would prefer to move forward with Darnold instead of everyone new toy

Listen to whoever you want because that's your choice . Me, i choose to watch the tape of the games that prospects play, see how they react in live situations and formulate my own opinion.
In the final analysis, the only opinion that matters is that of the person making the pick . Whoever ends up under center at the start of the season will get my support, but at least i will go with my own opinion and not something some paid joker fed to me .
